In this setting, Sharen is a masculine name. It's fantasy but I apologise if it still sounds buggy to the ears.

Sharen left the bed, stretching himself. He'd missed the feeling of being able to twist himself however he wanted without worrying about the pain that always left his mind in a daze. His gaze landed on Narene and he noticed the dark lines underneath her eyes and the tell-tale of wakefulness. He frowned. "Did you sleep at all last night?"

The characters have internal struggles (much like every human being does) and they have to face them. they can't just jump in to the mood. It's called character development.

You need to understand that this is a fantasy setting and in this world, Sharen is a man's name. You can't judge it as if it was in reality. Also, you should not drop the book because of a character name (you'll get used to that) but you should read on to see if the plot interests you before making a decision to drop it.

The plot is great but I fail to connect with the characters. No plot development so far and no character personality. All of them are just stiff. The power system here is a bit confusing and I find it hard to picture it or measure it. The setting is very vague and unclear and it is overly fast paced.

The plot is interesting Hough I fail to get any character development or personality. Death seems a little too normal. Grammar errors are a big issue too. I find it difficult knowing which POV his book is written in. World building is not satisfactory. More work needed here.

I give this story 2 star because I find some issues with it. The grammatical errors and the stagnant arcs make the plot appear boring and stuff and pulls readers out. World building has been ignored and the core of writing--character development--has been ignored too. This book needs serious overhaul to push up.
