Until it could develop its strength, it had to lie low. It checked its status for now, nothing how much it had degraded in strength:

Well, that certainly caused some reaction in Gu Jun. Images that would put me, the translator, into trouble with the authority entered his mind. Gu Jun noticed Kedou was looking at them with interest but he still leaned over and said affirmatively, "Of course."

The Pheromone Gland! The ol' faithful. Who would have thought that the simple mutation of the language gland would have such far reaching impact? Come to think of it, packing the capacity for language into one mutation is a little generous of the System, isn't it? It's not the sort of thing that Gandalf is known for, the stingy bearded bugger. I wonder if this became some sort of standard mutation for more intelligent bugs down in the depths? It does teach language, not really, it just expands the range of scents the pheromone gland can produce to have sufficient gradient that language can be expressed. It does increase it a lot though… The pheromone gland went from "danger, food, warm, cold" to "hello guest, please be welcome. Care for some tea?" all in one mutation!

The Chen family was not the only one awake at that ungodly owner. If one looked out the window, one could see lights coming on one after another in the neighborhood windows. The whole city was coming alive. It was like thunder had just stricken the area, causing people's heart to palpitate. Of course, there were some who were spared like those who viewed sleep as the most important thing in the world. The broadcast was live on both the television and on the internet. Those who were still working tuned into the news through their phone.
