except all he had to do was store the gun in his space ring, if he didn't have the the space ring, he could've placed the gun within the storage space when he grabbed the gun, the actual advent of the weaker version of thunderclap doesnt play into this. and you can't really use the excuse, well hes'sstill developing, since you know, you gave a good portion of the experience of thousands of years worth of deaths from combat to utilize.

Water cannot be used to put out oil fires, sand, dirt, or possibly magic would be the only way to put out oil fires in the era this story takes place in.

Water might be the best to put out fires in such an era but with a scarce supply of it, no one would be stupid enough to waste it and since sand can do just the same then why not make use of it. The failure of the battering rams served as a reminder to Khao'khen that even though he was a good or maybe even great commander in his era but in such a period that nuclear bombs and automatic rifles didn't exist and a world where fantasy creatures and magic existed, he still had a lot to learn.

hate to break it to you, but third degree burns don't hurt, they can't, not physically anyways. this is because third degree burns burn out and kill the nerve endings
