The only friend he had growing was a little Pikachu who didn't like his Pokeball no matter what changes the lad made to it. The lad and Pikachu grew very close together and he became the first person the pokemon trusted which was really saying something.

Foxx worked on repairing the Vulpix's Pokeball only to realize that it needed too much repair and seeing as he wasn't allowed to buy any Pokeballs himself it looked as he needed build one from scratch! So taking bits and pieces from some of the other empty but broken Pokeballs that had been laying around the ruined Poke Center to create what would be the first of his many custom Pokeballs.

The next three years went by faster then anyone could have believed. Foxx and the Vulpix, which he had named Joy, grew closer and closer together. Out popped a Miltank and a Celfairy. Normal type so there goes any hope at a type advantage but also removes any chance of a type disadvantage. Foxx thought for a minute. Now he still only had two Pokémon but still he needed a plan because once he sent his Pokémon out the battle would begin. Then with a smile he lifted Eevee's poke ball from his belt and released her right next to Joy.
