And I also think it gives Jason a bit more charecter for future growth. And in general just makes the story more realistic because no one can get infinitly stronger without sacrifies and setbacks. At least not without a major Guardian to protect him.

Scorpio, with the lowest potential, had to protect him with his life so that Jason could survive.

However, the final outcome of the soon-to-occur event would shock both the perpetrator and everyone around the City Lord. Even Luna herself would be shocked to the core despite having prepared for seemingly every scenario that could occur!
