So sorry about the late reply, but(SPOILER ALERT) the kids are going to matter and be a bigger part of the story in book II. I wanted to start this book as a small introduction to the characters and more to come. I'm glad you kinda like the story, but I'm so sorry it's sad. I never thought it would make someone catch sad feelings at all haha.
