I feel bad for Irene. I wished Ves would more actively try to help. Maybe they can give Irenes destruction more purpose. Like creating a spark of new live that can grow out of the destruction. like plants on volcanic soil... just something fresher than Cynthias old "make them fear". Also wouldnt the phasewhales and the Cosmopolitans learn of her attacplans when she sends brainwashed agents beforehand?

Ves arguably made a very stupid decision.

Both of them worked fairly quickly. The draft design soon took on a different form. The white mech not only contained a lot more light sources that enabled the mech to glow like a star at their brightest intensity, but also came paired with a long and flowing projected cape that could be configured to glow in any color!

It was a pity that neither Blinky nor his Blinkyverse were good at causing material harm. Ves needed to rely on other forms of protection in order to defend himself against physical threats.

maybe they can use Ylvaine as a warning system, that tells the pilot to eject before their future will be obliterated by a warship beam...

Despite the extreme ranges, the targeting guidance from Ylvaine made it so that around 30 percent of the positron cannon attacks struck a smaller wheednar warship!

I think that his problem with these aliens is more personal. They've abducted him and his family, and he always reacted quite violently when someone acted against him in an "improper" way.

Ves did not take the former possibility seriously. These aliens deserved to go extinct for what they have done.

well, in the paragraph it says that he told the rest (not the mech pilots), to ready themselves. That should encompass the scientist in the field and the ships in general, which is quite important in case of a battle.

Otrus Magrin did not procrastinate. He instructed the mechs under his command to scramble en masse while ordering the rest to prepare for a battle or a hasty retreat.
