To me, this novel is the equivalent of an ice cream dropped in the dirt. It had the potential to be good, but now it's just ruined. Hope you'll continue enjoying it though.

Once again Aina is the only one getting anything out of this. Her father tries to kill Leonel for rejecting her, which he had every right to do. And despite interfering in the tournament and trying to kill her son, Leonels mother just let's him go. Simping for Aina just because she cried a little bit. Leonel gives up his benefits, once again putting the convenience of this selfish woman above his own ambitions, the security of his people and his own self-respect.

I have no idea how you're thinking here. If she wasn't to blame we wouldn't even have this situation to begin with. She chose to let Leonel (and Savahn, for that matter) face the descent without preparation. Her choice to not inform them put them at higher risk of death. So what if they didn't believe her? You wouldn't risk embarrassing yourself if it could save someone you cared about? If she wanted she would have found a way to make it believable. She had the opportunity to take of her mask and show her curse, show off her superhuman strength, her magical axe or ask Yuri to corroborate her story just for starters. She just didn't care enough. Granted, they weren't that close back then, so this might still be forgivable on Leonels part. But Savahn was her only friend for four years, and Aina just let her face the apocalypse unprepared. After the descent she just keeps lying, hiding things and using leonel for her own purposes. He follows her around like a stray puppy, doing everything in his power to support her and keep her safe. At valiant heart she just sits in her room for two months ignoring his messages before she even bothers to see how he's doing. And at the tournament when he is hunted by his enemies and is depending on her to keep his friends safe until he can meet up, she just takes of to focus on her revenge. Not a day wasted to make sure he's alright. No message. Nothing. Why would an apology and some crying be enough for him to take her back?
