At first I was thinking "Wait that's way too OP" but checking earlier chapters we have: Fire Manipulation for 1 mana cost and 50% scaling of intelligence and Jack having 29 Int, 10 Fire affinity (extra fire damage & fire resist), 20 mana, 8 Spirit (which gives life & mana regen, plus improve buffs) AND the daily use of Wolf Blessing for extra damage and regen for 10 minutes PLUS a whole Moon Moon worth of extra fiery damnation so it does checks out. The backline of mages he targeted were wearing cloth armor, which give magical armor, but them being not-Jack and level 6 we can assume their were poorly equiped and Jack has high intelligence and almost twice their level anyway. Now, Fire Manipulation is still stronger than what a begginer should have access to, but it was obtained from a catalyst, coming from a Boss and a Hellish Boss even. And the mere knowledge and access to Mana engulfing room is no simple matter. (I remember it being mentioned that in Jack's previous life higher level pro players would focus on catalyst and mana manipulation, but I couldn't find that part again). I'm surprised at how effective burning DoTs are. With how poorly the wildlife is reacting to fire it seems any mage getting hold of a fire spell is bound to have an easy time. Or maybe even just anyone using a torch as a weapon?
