But you did say to demonize him. You said Tan is the "devil," and devils are demons. You think it's "disgusting" for Tan to be afforded some humanity, and you'd prefer if he simply wastes away. It's not a good thing to leave your offspring, but it is a common occurrence. For example, around 40% of women who have children here in the US are single moms. In the Philippines it's even worse and I'll provide a screenshot of the statistics of illegitimate and legitimate births that the government of the Philippines created. Even if he's just considered a donor, he's still the father. No matter how much you think he's not the father, he still is in the eyes of the law and culture in which he's from and resides in. There's nothing around that fact, hence, he deserves to be forgiven. It doesn't mean they need to be best friends, business partners, or any of that, but a positive familial relationship is necessary for Michael to not, in the educational academic sense, not the broadly understood sense, be considered antisocial. Also, I do know how he feels. I not only grew up in an environment similar to Michael, but I'm a teacher. I've played the role of a father to too many kids who were emotionally and physically abused by their fathers.

Well, if he is planning to reconnect, then that's one thing Michael won't let happen easily. The complexities of their relationship, or lack thereof, were not something Michael was prepared to unravel at the moment. His focus had to remain on SolaraTech, on the groundbreaking work they were doing, and on the future he was building – a future that, until today, he had imagined without any interference from Alexander Tan.

He's not even close to the devil. He didn't torture, kill, or maim Michael or the mother of their child. He simply dismissed his responsibility of conceiving a child in a one night stand. Which in the Philippines and most countries of the world, is not unheard of in the least bit. As for the mother, we don't know what she thinks. She can be indifferent to Tan, maybe a bit fond of him, or absolutely hate him. However, we don't know that, because for the well-being of Michael, she doesn't talk about it. When it comes to her youth being destroyed, hardly. She still had ample opportunity to grow as an individual, and she did. She didn't become rich or stress free, yet nearly no one does. But, because of her newfound care and dedication to raise Michael into the person he has become, he was chosen by the being who gifted him the system to not only entertain her, but bring prosperity to his life and those around it. A primary component of this novel is bringing awareness of our environmental, personal, and social responsibilities as individuals of a species when it comes to improving the greater whole of humanity. Michael has set out to improve the lives of all humans, not just the good ones or the ones he finds particularly unique, through the proliferation of technology bought from his system. Finally, you say the most important thing is family, but you still choose to hope that Michael casts stones, demonizes, and utterly eliminates his father for leaving him and his mother alone to survive life after being given a decent cash settlement. That's antithesis to what you find most important, because a major component of having a family is learning to forget and forgive the bad, and focus on the good and what can be.

He needs to be the bigger person and accept things for what they are. His father isn't a murderer, or someone irredeemable. He makes medicine so people can survive or at least live just a little bit longer. He might have treated Michael poorly, but he can almost be considered a saint to everyone else in the Philippines. He's almost certainly saved the lives of hundreds of thousands of people, and because of that, he's worthy of having a positive father-son relationship.

Michael noticed the looks but chose to concentrate on making the evening memorable for Bridget. He pointed out the Manila Cathedral, explaining its architectural significance and the role it played in Philippine history. Bridget, fascinated, asked thoughtful questions that showed her genuine interest.

I personally feel like Michael talks way too much with his investors. On Shark Tank and Dragons's Den, they often pass on people who need their hands held.

"Oh, that's great news, Michael! I'm glad you finally took care of it. Did you opt for the expedited processing? We might need to travel soon for those meetings with potential international partners," Bridget responded.

Are monopolies even allowed in the Philippines? I can imagine that if he was going to be the only player in the industry, his company would either be broken up into smaller companies, or he'd be forced to provide his technology and manufacturing process to his competitors for free.

The mission was the domination of the market. It meant a simple thing, the only solar panel in the country must be the SolaraTech Corporation. Companies like the Solar Dynamics Corporation should be kicked out of the market, leaving SolaraTech as the sole player in the industry. Achieving this goal required not only technological superiority but also strategic planning and effective execution.

He turned his attention back to the work in front of him, determined to put the encounter out of his mind. However, the business card remained on his desk, a tangible reminder of a connection that, whether he liked it or not, existed. It was a link to a past Michael had long tried to distance himself from, but as he would soon find out, the past has a way of catching up, often when least expected.
