"Master George hasn't returned since he left last night, sire," one of the servants replied before the butler entered the room, holding a letter. With a stern expression, the butler approached, presenting the letter to Count Kingsley.

George nodded vigorously, his head bobbing like a bobblehead. He should find a way to call for help! Either he should be able to escape from this castle or inform his father in some way! His father was the count and would then attack this stupid, pureblooded vampire and close the chapter forever! But before he could contemplate an entire plan, Mallory hurled a knife in his direction.

"I—I think there's been a misunderstanding. I didn't threaten her, not at all," the human stammered, his nervous smile betraying his words. "We were just having a conversation, right?" he turned to Mallory, as if they were both on the same team.

"But what about me?" George asked with disbelief because he had been doing everything he had been told to, even though not willingly.

"Stop contemplating the direction of the knife and focus on the target," Hadeon's voice drawled, his grin as sharp as the knives. "And if you need some motivation, just think about the lovely times you spent with Georgie. You know how he tarnished your reputation and practically escorted you to the scaffold. There's no need to worry about damaging something that is already damaged. Isn't that right, Georgie?"

George couldn't help but let out a snicker, trying to mask his amusement behind a cough. Meanwhile, Mallory's face froze in embarrassment, feeling the weight of Hadeon's intense gaze boring into her.

"Absolutely none! But you need to aim the knives at the board and on getting the centre. I'll be watching to see if any miss is... intentional," Hadeon's smile widened. As George hung the sizeable board and started to move away, Hadeon called him back with a casual yet commanding tone. "Georgie, shuffle two steps to your right. A tad more, now step forward. Perfect!"

"Is that it?" Mallory wondered silently, her suspicion brewing. This was the reason he talked about free movements? Out loud, she ventured cautiously, "And there are no... consequences if I miss?"

"Georgie, hang the board on the tree," Hadeon ordered the arrogant elite-turned-servant with a dismissive flick of his hand. He then turned his attention to Mallory and said, "Considering how bad your aim is, I thought we could improve on it. Am I the best employer or what?"

At the same time, Mallory quietly glared at the arrogant ass, who still hadn't been humbled after a haircut and status change. When George set the tray down, revealing an assortment of knives, her eyebrows furrowed.

Hadeon arched an eyebrow, and he remarked, "I merely suggested comfortable attire, yet here you are, dreaming up illicit activities," he tutted, a sly grin spreading across his face. "Looks like someone's mind is dancing in the gutter. Maybe a quick spanking will jog it back to decency?"

Mallory's eyes widened before narrowing in suspicion. "What for?" she demanded, her voice tinged with alarm. "I—If you are thinking of making me do something scandalous, I—"

"Wear comfortable clothes and come down," Hadeon instructed her, his wrist relaxing gracefully as he lowered the cigar. "You'll want to be able to move freely," he added, the corner of his mouth curling up.
