That's the point. It is strange he got caught. When Dumbledore caught him for the circle around the goblet, it was a completely understandable development. It was Dumbledore and his method was explained. With Ivy, Quinn decides for reasons that he no longer needs his paranoia or his planning or half his characterization and basically invites people to do what Ivy did with his lack of preparation. Had this happened back in his second year it would have been plausible. It isn't now. This is dumbing down a character for plot purposes. Not a good look. Though as I've said before, not my book, not my ocs, not my plot. My opinion is in the end irrelevant to the story. It is just my take on things.

In his first year, Recon was birthed in Hogwarts and became possibly the most significant breach of personal privacy that ever existed in the history of Hogwarts. Every morning Quinn had ever visited the Great Hall for breakfast, he had used Legilimency to spy on people. On multiple occasions, Quinn had used audio transmitting chips to listen in on conversations. Just this year, he had planted a recording device in a person's room (even though it was Umbridge) and broke into her office repeatedly using Recon to change the tapes.

'Rose Petal Red' by NonchalantxFish has a good court scene in the MC's second year. All around good fanfic. Very long though.

FictionOnlyReader - Author - You guys were right; it would take another chapter. Also, I suck at righting court scenes. Do you guys have any recommendation fics that do court cases well? I don't remember reading any. I sort of just "roughly" emulating the real deal, fingers crossed.

Yes, but he uses skills. Ivy just decided to follow him, she literally just used her legs. She decided that it was her business to know what Quinn was doing at any point in time. I'm mostly annoyed that he is going on with this and actually letting her have all this information just because she fucking asked him for it. If she or someone else spied on him and discovered what he was doing via any kind of skill I would be completely fine with it.

Time for Quinn to interrogate her and then obliviate her hopefully. God, I hope he doesn't let her in on it. To think of all the work he did to get this far and then this chick just shoves her noes in it and may reap the rewards. Ughhhh. I despise Ivy with my entire being. Honestly really hope both Daphne and Ivy get rejected. It's unlikely, but a relationship with either of them would be so unbalanced. It would be like a teacher-student relationship with the differences in skill level and maturity. He is so far ahead of them in basically all ways it would be gross to me. What would they even bring to the table? I can't think of anyone in the series who would be a good match for him. An OC would be the best way to go in my opinion. Or Fleur, considering she was also talented and into magic, but the gap was still there even then.
