no, it was said he can't actually die. but also turned around and said everything was very "real" so who knows. sounds contradictory to me

That means even though the host can kill a character in this hologram, Using Chaos Devourer on them won't work because they are essentially just holographs.

he was never introduced to her, nor told anything other than this guy was dropping his grand daughter off for the test. it feels like we are missing bits of conversation that would tie things together. it's easy to assume he was told and it was just never written, but it feels a bit...off sometimes.

To protect Gaia? Why? Is she in trouble? Besides, with how weak he is right now, compared to Commander Shiron who was an EIA commander, there really wasn't much help he could provide.
