Reaper456: Im sad that this novel has ended. I really like this novel its hilarious and doesn't have romance. Now after this novel i guess my ss is just going to pile up unless i use some on a novel called release that witch. My Second favorite novel called Night Ranger is finished now my third favorite has also ended.

Larme: Can't get through that lengthy arc with a particular short-tempered young lady. When you compare to how MC acts in the beginning of the story, gives a sort of "what the heck are you still doing there MC, and where the heck is this story going" vibe. Little kids actually acting their age, being selfish and dumb and whatnot, is surprisingly irritating when the protagonist is forced to become their babysitter.

Bro, u gave this a very just review. I also wanted to point these out, but was too lazy to write a review. I was also annoyed by how everyone had a conspiracy that succedes and the endless loop of conspiracy inside another conspiracy thing. THe mc is just a ragdoll tossed around. The "calamities " doesnt seem to be much of a threat as they are dealt with every time they pop up. THe mc with all his potential and talent doesnt make much improvement. And his father the "wise" king seems like a useless idiot, and I wonder why every heaven shaking beauties fell for him? New characters and new powerhouses are introduced in every other chapter, making it confusing as hell. From my point of view nobody cares abt the prince mc as even his father tossed him as a political hostage the moment he was reunited with his long lost son, and brought him a lot of trouble and ignored him altogether. Vern242: So I've read around 200 chapters (doesn't show here since it was a while back) before I've dropped this.
I was going in expecting this was going to be a fantasy story. But it barely qualifies. It has some magic and supernatural things, it's like western magic, but even then, barely some tidbits here and there.
So the main character is a reincarnee. Why? I don't feel like there's any reason to do that, since the author doesn't make use of it other than to justify the MCs wisdom, intelligence and experience (which is still that of a common *****). Which wouldn't even matter if the story didn't progress so heavily when the MC is just a child.
Ok so lets breakdown the story. The author creates these scenarios where the MC is pretty much useless. He serves as an observer (other than select rare scenarios where he actually lets him do something). Now this makes sense since the MC is just a child, it's not like he can just go kill skilled people. You'd think that after the dark and horrific early chapters you would get a time skip or he'd spend some time training / studying till he has enough strength to protect himself in this chaotic and brutal world. Well no, this continues on for more than 200 chapters. He's constantly tossed around. The author does this thing where after a political story segment he explains things. He makes this look like it was logical and you should've been able to see it coming from far away, which comes across as pretentious. Overall it's beautifully written, complex, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Because the MC can't do anything and doesn't even have the spirit to go against the grain it makes the story feel forced. You're just watching him suffer.
Ok so the characters. This in my opinion is one of the worst aspects of this book. The characters are complex, they feel human, and that's as much good as I can say about them. None of them are likeable. Not even one. There are certain characters that are portrayed as good until the truth comes out that they've done their fair share of sinister and disgusting acts. There are no funny characters. If the author decided to just kill off all characters and start over with new ones I wouldn't feel a thing, they're just there to further the story which is boring. Well, except for the kids at the beginning, well, the ones that didn't have their brains blown open, thanks author.
Lastly the world. This world is just depressing. Normally a fantasy world would be built up to look interesting, to make you want to be there, to experience the magic for yourself, or at least make it interesting. Everyone is suffering in this world (there are always some exceptions of course). There's no good or happy thing that happens in this book. Unless if the stopping of pain is equivalent to feeling good for you.
I forced myself to read up to 200 chapters because I was hoping that It's just a longer bad beginning as they do in a lot of books to build character. But it isn't. I tried reading ahead a little just to find out that there is indeed a time skip not far away but it doesn't change much and there's still the same dynamic of MC being in situations far above what he can deal with. I don't know how long the chapters in this book are compared to the average xuanhuan repetetive and boring story but to me they felt at least 2/3 times as long. This is way too long to have such a painfully boring and depressing political story.
Overall 2/5, painful to read through

Otaking: Is the sound pavilion related to devil emperor Vera, or is it people from Lu sheng's "mom's" family?
Those are the only groups i can think of that have beef with MC, at least out in the open.

Its not just a problem with the ranking. A novel like this belongs in the top 20. Other good novels in this website is far in 100s or put on hold. They just put up all kinds of shallow faceslapping nonsense novels at the top of the rankings and keep promoting them! View More

One stupid aspect is the 3 yr deadline by the dark magic region. They actually expect an apprentice to construct analyse, optimize and construct 3 zero, and 3 first level spells, and purchase them by doing a ton of missions and using contribution points. along with increasing their mental power all the while. This ensures that even if they advance by some miracle, they will be mediocre and have unstable spells. Doesnt make any sense at all !! View More
