I agree with you too. But it's not about gaining or losing readers. It's about having fun. How many original novels on this site do you think are on hiatus? forever, abandoned by authors. Most people don't realise that most authors here have a life and priorities. Writing is not their full time job. There needs something that will hold them here like money. The author of this novel in particular is a student and is writing it for enjoyment. Primarily, his interest in this story plus his readers' appreciation and encouragement keeps him going. Every person has a conscience and is capable of making decisions for the most part. Suppose, if some reader unironically said 'make mc walk on his hands for rest of the novel' to an author, you can certainly tell if he'll listen to him or not. Same with if a reader pointed out an obvious grammatical error and asked him to correct it. These are the opinions and feedbacks any sane person will know how to react to quite obviously. If it improves his story then why not. But what if author makes mc walk on his hands. For him that's more interesting and fun; that's the meat of his story. Whereas many readers are quite unpleased and requesting him to not do that. If he listens to them, he might lose his interest and enjoyment in the story and once that internal driving force is gone; no matter how much readers encourage him, it's just not going to work for him. This is what I was referring to when I wrote don't listen to others and do what you want. No matter how right the feedback is, even if it pleases many readers but if it's gonna be unpleasant for you then don't do it. Unrealistic? Maybe.. it's just about drawing a line to how much more you can give and still be happy. Plus even if author listens to reader A not only he's not listening himself but also reader B. Cause there's rarely an unanimous opinion.

To the author: please do whatever you want. There will always be people who'll like it and some who will not. I don't want you to get discouraged while reading comments and stuff. For I've seen many authors abandoning their work.. even writing for that matter. Many have fallen in trap of listening to their readers and making constant changes to their novel and realise how it's no longer their own original work. No-one told you to write this novel, you did it yourself. So, why listen to them telling you how and what to write. Obviously, it's your choice to listen what, when and from whom. But know that this is your story and no-one knows it better than you. Whatever you write I'll be fine with it. I've never seen you asking for votes and reviews. Nor is anyone paying for it. You wrote this novel out of boredom, to please yourself not others. And if it doesn't please you, why bother? Mental health should always be a priority. Hope your exams went well. Since I've dug this up already, to those who got butthurt cause of netori: wasn't it very clear in the third chapter when the system literally announced main quest: 'take all the girls away from the main protagonist' (keyword here is 'all' as in it might happen a few times.) You went into this novel knowing it's a netori and now that it barely happens, you.. I want be more vocal but I'm afraid that this might affect this novel and so the author.. I'll stop here. (**: I started reading this yesterday.)
