In that terrifying instant, Edith's instincts kicked in. With a swift motion, she plunged the second dagger into the alpha's side, causing it to roar in agony and momentarily turn its attention towards her.

Selena watched in awe and horror as Edith stood her ground, her eyes filled with determination. The alpha, wounded but still formidable, lunged at her with all its might. Edith fought hard but her strength was starting to wane and it was showing. Alfie her chinchilla was letting out a high-pitched cry while trembling in terror.

Ever since Selena left the confines of the cold dungeon she had a passive and subservient demeanor. She had never fought for anything, always yielding to others and avoiding conflict at all costs. But on this particular day, as she witnessed a ferocious wolf attacking her loyal maidservant, Edith, and threatening her precious chinchilla, something snapped within her.
