Capítulo 8: Phone, Power, and Perplexed Kitten

Lucien was left speechless, his mouth hanging open for a good two minutes, while Seren simply facepalmed in disbelief at their parents' utter stupidity.

"Why on earth did you bring that monster here?" Lucien finally managed to speak, his voice tinged with frustration.

He couldn't understand why his parents, who were strong with their unique skills, would bring such danger to the village.

"Well, you see, we were running out of MP, so... as a good son, you should help your parents, Lucien," Cassius replied, gripping Lucien's shoulder tightly.

Lucien's patience was wearing thin. He wanted to shout and curse at his parents, but he reminded himself, 'No, I'm better than that. I shouldn't curse. Be patient, Lucien. Be patient,' as he rubbed his chest, trying to calm himself down.

Their stunned silence was abruptly interrupted when the monster turned its gaze towards them and began to move, the villagers' houses thankfully escaping being engulfed by the slime and dissolved into its body, much like the towering wall had.

While Gibson's face drained of color and he slumped to the ground, his aged features took on an even more weathered appearance, resembling a withering tree.

His son rushed to his side, helping him to stand again as he asked, "Are you alright, father?"

"No! That thing! That thing! It destroyed our wall! The wall that our ancestors built from stone to this grand wall!" Gibson's voice trembled with hysteria as he ranted nonsensically.

"How can we be safe during the Crimson Night?" he continued, his words filled with fear and desperation.

Lucien furrowed his brows, pondering the significance of the Crimson Night that they kept mentioning.

However, it didn't matter at that moment. The most pressing concern was the gigantic slime slowly but steadily making its way towards them.

"Lucy, you're smart, you must have something to defeat that damned monster, right? We all have strong skills, including you!" Amane shook Lucien's body vigorously, causing his head to spin.

"No, Mother! I don't have a strong skill! I'm just a mage without any special abilities!" Lucien's frustration led him to speak the truth.

"Tsk! You useless son!" Cassiel scoffed, further provoking him.

"I'm not useless! You two are the ones who caused this trouble. Now solve it yourselves," Lucien retorted, crossing his arms defiantly.

His parents needed to be reminded of their responsibility, especially when their foolishness put him in danger.

"What! You dare to talk back to your parents, you ungrateful child!" Cassius grabbed Lucien's collar, but he wasn't intimidated by his father's aggression.

Instead, he met Cassius's gaze with a challenging look, refusing to back down.

"Ah, stop fighting, can't you see that monster right in front of us!?" Seren yelled, snapping her brother and parents out of their argument.

"Shit!" Amane and Cassius cursed simultaneously.

"Can't be helped, I'll be the one to defeat it," Seren sighed, pulling out her mobile and opening an app.

Lucien watched as his sister snapped a photo of the monster. He couldn't help but slap his forehead in disbelief at her actions, realizing she was just taking a picture.

Meanwhile, the monster grabbed its parents with its slimy hands and lifted them into the air, prompting Cassius to start screaming curses at it.

"This fucking asshole! You should fight us fair and square, damn it!" Cassius started to scream while the slime roared in reply.

"Just wait until my MP is full, I'll show you what hell feels like!" Amane joined in, shouting while trying to reach her katana.

"Oi! Why are you just standing there? Do something, you brat!" Cassius looked straight at Lucien and yelled.

Lucien couldn't help but grin at the absurdity of the situation. It was the first time he felt like laughing at his parents' expense. They deserved it for their recklessness and lack of common sense.

Turning his attention back to Seren, he watched as she continued editing the photo on her mobile, ensuring the monster was erased without deleting their parents from the picture.

'What is she doing? Why is she still focused on her mobile even in this crisis?' Lucien wondered, perplexed by his sister's behavior.

As Seren saved the picture, the monster disappeared, leaving only its hand behind, which began to gather and shape back into a normal-sized slime.

His parents fell from the sky, landing on the ground with faces covered in mud and street debris, their once pristine attire now dirtied and disheveled. They looked utterly annoyed.

While Lucien couldn't contain his laughter, feeling a sense of satisfaction he hadn't experienced before as he wiped away his tears.

It was gratifying to see his parents finally learning the consequences of their foolish actions.

But now, his focus shifted back to his sister. How was she able to delete the slime so effortlessly with just her mobile phone?

"How did you do that?" Lucien asked, still curious about the unique skills and abilities his sister possessed.

"Oh, that's my unique skill. The Voice of the World told me that I could bring my phone into this world and use it as a weapon. I can delete any existence just by taking a photo of them," Seren explained matter-of-factly.

"Of course, they have to be weaker than me for it to work," she added.

Lucien rarely spoke to Seren, but now he realized that she wasn't actually the quiet and introverted type.

She seemed to become quite talkative when discussing things she was passionate about.

'What a strong skill! She just edits the picture and the monster is gone?! That's really dangerous.'

'I shouldn't make my sister angry now, she might just take a photo of me and I'd be perish,' Lucien thought to himself.

But then, Lucien realized that he was the only one who didn't have any combat skills at all. Was this because of his chosen path?

"So, what's your path and class then?" he continued to ask.

"Oh, that's it. My path is Wanderer. The Voice said I can choose any path I want based on my hobbies. My class is a warrior."

"What? Is that even possible? How come you have that skill?" Lucien was astonished because he remembered the kitten didn't give him any combat skills.

"Eh? Isn't that what the Voice would give you? It spins the bonus unique skill for the class you choose," Seren replied, scratching her head in confusion.

"No! I didn't get one! That damned kitten!" Lucien exclaimed, pointing angrily at the sky. He protested against whatever the Voice of the World was, feeling it was unfair to him.

In the realm of the Gods, an orange kitten with splashes of pink and purple lay on the ground, engrossed in the manga, occasionally chuckling at the humor.

Its surroundings consisted solely of the universe—a vast expanse of black, dotted with stars, planets, and the occasional black hole.

Bored and lonely, the kitten began to explore what humans enjoyed. Suddenly, like a bolt of lightning, it remembered something important.

"Hmm... What was it? I feel like I've forgotten something crucial," it mused, scratching its chin with an adorable paw.

"Oh, right! Let's see how that crazy family is doing now. Surely, they couldn't have caused too much trouble already," the kitten thought aloud.

A screen materialized in front of it, initially resembling a broken TV. But soon, it displayed the image of a giant slime wreaking havoc in a village.

"Huh? How is this possible? They were only transmigrated three hours ago," the kitten remarked, sitting up in confusion as the situation escalated.

Then, it heard Lucien's voice echoing through the screen, "No, Mother! I don't have that strong skill! I'm just a mage without any skill!"

"Ah, that's what I forgot about," the kitten laughed dryly, averting its gaze from the screen. "Ugh, it's because he was so noisy! Yes, yes it was all his fault!"

"His family is strong, so he should be fine, right? Yes, yes, no problem at all," it reassured itself, nodding confidently as if to convince itself that it hadn't made a mistake.

"Haha, yeah, no problem at all!" the kitten chuckled nervously.

"Haha..."

"Ha..."

Amane and Cassius were in chaos, covered from head to toe in mud and grime, their once flashy attire now unrecognizable.

However, instead of dismay, their faces bore malicious grins as they faced the sobbing slime before them.

They didn't care about the cute crying little slime as Cassius retrieved his gun from his tuxedo while Amane unsheathed her katana, crackling with purple thunder, both poised for action.

"What should we do to this little bastard right here?" Cassius inquired, his finger hovering over the trigger of his gun.

"Let's chop down this dumbass slime to pieces until we get bored," Amane suggested, her katana crackling with anticipation.

The two of them then tortured that little slime until they were satisfied. The scene was too gory to the point Lucien and Seren just had to get out of the scene.

The only thing they could hear was the shrieking sound of the slime crying and in pain.
