Initially, Ethan intended to carry his two swords into class, but after Professor McGonagall discovered this, he staunchly protested. Ethan stood firm in upholding the witcher tradition and eventually persuaded Professor McGonagall. The professor enlisted the support of Professor Flitwick and Professor Sprout, forming a united front. Through their continuous persuasion, Ethan ultimately agreed not to carry his two swords within the Hogwarts premises.
