Cerita ini mengisahkan seorang pemuda lelaki yang bernama Ahmad Zahid yang secara tiba-tiba menjadi makhluk yang dikenali sebagai Panglima Ulung. Panglima Ulung merupakan pahlawan pada suatu tempat yang dikenali Tanah Pemerintahannya Sultan Gombak dan kini tempat itu telah menjadi bandar. Ahmad merupakan seorang penuntut ilmu persilatan dikawasan yang dia tempati. Pada suatu malam dia termimpi bertemu dengan Panglima Ulung. Lalu Panglima Ulung berbual-bual dengan Ahmad dalam mimpinya, kerana Panglima Ulung perlukan bantuan untuk mempertahankan kawasan yang Ahmad tinggal di sebabkan ada amukan makhluk yang dipanggil Raja Kegelapan yang disebabkan ada yang memuja dan memanggilnya untuk hancurkan kawasan yang diduduki oleh Ahmad.
