ตอน 185: Being sold off
Yami continued training everyday and Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke came back. Apparently Rengoku had died. Yami looked at the others and they looked listless, he gave them healing potions and Stamina potions along with some candies in comfort.
They thanked him and Yami said "Come train when you're better." before leaving the medical building. Eri kicked down the door and stomped over to the group, cracking her knuckles with a dark expression as she said "You went and got yourselves injured ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh?"
The 3 'eek'd and trembled in fear,
Eri grabbed Inosuke and shook him saying "IDIOT, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" before beating him up. Obviously, she had learned from her mother.
Yami continued swinging the sword with a new stitching on his scarf. He had a training plan, it was; wake up, swinging practice, lunch, sword draw practice, dinner, meditation, sleep, repeat. All the while breathing continuously, he tried to intensify his breathing to accelerate the strengthening process, but it only worked a little bit, so he went back to normal constant breathing.
Time passed like this.
Tanjiro vanished one day and then came back. Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Tanjiro all joined Yami for sword practice and they trained like this for 4 months, only taking breaks to go on missions. They also sparred constantly, there wasn't a time where they weren't training, even in their sleep they were breathing constantly, strengthening their bodies.
The 4 were dead tired every night, the sword slashing and drawing seemed easy but they did it at full strength for hours and hours every day. The only thing the other three didn't do with Yami was meditate, they opted for strength training instead.
Yami got the incredible idea to use weights at all times after the first month, he rifled through his bag but realized he didn't have any weights with him. He did the next best thing and got a bunch of bags before filling them with rocks and wrapping them around his wrists.
The rest did the same and the training intensified.
Yami turned 10 and he didn't even get a birthday present, it was pretty tragic. All he got was a letter that said 'Happy Birthday. -Dad' he flipped it over and the writing was his mom's 'My sweet little baby is 10, I'm so old! But I still love you! Happy Birthday!!! -Mommy~ <3'
Yami smiled and kept the letter before going to train again. He packed his wooden sword inside his backpack and hugged his normal sword as he walked outside the room, hoping Shinobu wouldn't come to fight him again, she was so annoying.
She came to fight him once a week and she would go all out, normally the other Hashira would come to stop the fight before anyone died. She got more and more frustrated every time as she could never block the 11th Form. It was just too fast for her to dodge or block.
Most of the time, Giyu stepped in and stopped it but sometimes he was on missions and Mitsuri, the Love Hashira, would stop Yami with the Snake Hashira, Obanai.
Hopefully today, she wouldn't attack him again.
He still had to go all out when he fought with her and it was good training but it was more for mastering his Breathing Style than training himself, plus she couldn't force him to go past 11th Form, maybe the Snake Hashira could.
Yami was going to start training when he saw Nanao and Aoi get kidnapped by the Sound Hashira, Tengen. Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Yami surrounded Tengen from all directions with their hands on their hilts.
Tanjiro said "We'll go with you instead!" Tengen looked at the 4 before throwing Aoi and Nanao down as he said "Fine. Let's go." Yami went to go pack his things before saying goodbye to Eri and leaving with Tengen and the other 3.
Inosuke said "So? Where we going, geezer?" Tengen said "To the most flamboyant place of all..." the looked behind him at the 4 and said "The Red Light district." the 4 looked at him and he said "On this Mission, I am God! You understand?! If I tell you to become a dog, you will physically morph yourself into a dog to please me! I am GOD!"
Tanjiro raised his hand and said "What exactly do you rule over as a God?" Zenitsu looked at Tanjiro in a daze and Yami blinked, Tengen smirked "Good question. I'm starting to like you, I have high hopes for your future." he did a pose and said "I am the god of Flamboyance. The God of festivities!"
A breeze blew by and the 4 had blank expressions. It was completely silent and Tengen held his pose.
Inosuke said "I am the King of the Mountain. Nice to meet you, God of Festivities." Yami, Zenitsu, and Tanjiro looked at him and Tengen said "You're disgusting, you're not flashy at all. What does that even mean. Ew." a tumbleweed rolled by.
A while later
Tengen said "The Wisteria house is on the way to the Flower District. We'll get prepared there." before vanishing down the road. Inosuke said "So this is the power of the God of Festivities..." they chased after Tengen and came to a Wisteria house before eating their food.
Tengen explained "We're going to the Red light district to find my wife." Zenitsu shouted "YOU HAVE A WIFE?!" Tengen said "I have 3." Zenitsu clawed at his face and said "WHO ARE YOU KIDDING, YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE ONE AND YOU EXCEPT ME TO BELIEV THAT YOU HAVE 3 WIVES?! YOU'RE THE BIGGEST JOKE OF THE CENTURY, I CAN'T EVEN UNDERST-"
Tengen punched him in the stomach and continued "They're top of the line ninja, Kunoichis. We infiltrated the red light district but couldn't find any evidence of demons as customers so we went deeper than that. We've narrowed down the suspicious stores to 3. So you guys will look for my wives there and gather intel."
He held up 3 fingers and said "Suma in the Tokito House, Makio in the Ogimoto House, and Hinatsuru in the Kyougoku House." Inosuke said "Aren't your wives dead already?" Tengen punched him in the stomach and laid him out on top of Zenitsu.
Yami had his sword across his lap and ate candies watching, Tengen said "Ehhhhhhhhh? You listening, Candy boy?!" Yami nodded and Tanjiro translated "He said 'I understood everything perfectly, you want us to go and see if your wives are okay while simultaneously gathering intel about any demons that could be lurking in the area so that we can eradicate them with the least amount of civilian bloodshed."
Tengen felt his mouth twitch as he looked at Tanjiro's simple face, he said "That's right!"
A while later
Yami, Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu were dressed up as girls. Yami's name was changed to Yamiko, Tanjiro's name was changed to Sumiko, Zenitsu was Zenko, and Inosuke was Inoko. Tengen brought them to a house and they took Tanjiro, only having room for one.
Yami's face was half covered by the scarf so they couldn't see it and he hugged his sword wearing a backpack. He refused to let go. Tengen said "Just wear the scarf more loose!" Yami relented and lowered the scarf, Zenitsu shouted "WHY ARE YOU SO BEAUTIFUL!?" Yami felt a vein pop up on his forehead.
They walked around and saw an Oiran walking in the streets. Inosuke was bought and Yami blinked at Tengen as Zenitsu was sold. He was the only one left, but he was clearly the most beautiful one. Tengen looked at him and took the sword away, people instantly surrounded them and Tengen looked at them before putting the sword back, they left, he took it away they came back, he continued doing this until he stuffed the sword in Yami's backpack, dodging punches.
He sold Yami off to the same place as Zenitsu and they looked at him, he was taught how to dance.
