Adam was momentarily at a loss for words before changing tacks. "Okay then. So you take care of her but don't do anything romantic aside from some physical affection? You said it was part of the act so um…"

Richard could tell what he was getting at. "Little more than basic PDA."

"Ah. You haven't gone further than that?"

"No. Should I?"

Adam let out a long-suffering sigh. "She'll probably expect you to. How did you even end up with a kid if you've never…you know."

"Artificial insemination."

"I should have guessed. It's pretty crazy that you have a kid with her though and haven't actually done anything. That's one of the best parts of being married. But really though, start by taking her on a date. Find a babysitter and go do something she likes."

Something Laney liked, huh? His best bet would probably be taking her to the movies. He knew how much she loved those.
