" Quit?" Nick asked feeling as if his stomach has been bottomed out, he knew that Vanessa meant business when she said that she wasn't going to cling on to him. In fact, he should be happy that she gave up so easily after all being liked by a mafia girl wasn't something that he wanted but now that he has heard that Vanessa has quit her job at the company and maybe he might never see her ever again, he couldn't help but feel a bit annoyed by her actions. She said that she liked him then what kind of liking was this? Switching on and off upon her will? 

If she really liked him, then she should have come to the office and tried to explain —— explain what? What was he even thinking? What was Bree going to explain to him and why did he even need an explanation from her? Why does it matter to him that she was gone? It was a good thing that he would no longer be bothered by a bloody murderer!
