ตอน 5: Chapter 4

*Helicopter-Door-Rolling-Open*

"You should have seen it, after the first shot, I felt like Clint-F*cking-E*stwood!" I was saying cheerfully as I was still reeling over the adrenaline shot I had injected into myself before the operation as I was still unsure if I could do it. "Plus, we got our target. So that's a plus."

Glancing over to my shoulder, I was still carrying the rather light woman over my back and noticed that even after knocking her out, she still wouldn't let go do the briefcase. Holding it with a death-grip since she was knocked out.

"To risk her life for that briefcase. She's either very brave or very stupid." Alyssa said while she shut the cockpit of the small helecopter door with a faint smile as we began walking over to a more advanced stealth jet we brought and got inside. "Still, 'Queenie' has been holding out on us. To think she had a stealth-jet hidden away."

"First off; we're not calling her that. And second: it seems like no one knew but the original curators of the bunker. Not even the original Alice knew... or maybe she did and chose to have kept it hidden because we never asked." I spoke my honest thoughts as we then loaded inside and in a matter of a dozen minutes, we were crossing back into the US and breezed through the state in record time as Umbrella had been holding out on their more expensive technology.

Reaching over and lift a smart-pad that was on the side, I then connected with the facility back in the desert and spoke with my new resident colleague. "… Mary, how is everything over there?"

Once I got connected, I saw Mary laying on her stomach while on a black couch as she was eating a bland ration bar as she had a second tab open for whatever she was watching. Her hair still looked damp so she must have recently taken a shower.

{"It's still quiet… the red-um… girl? She's seriously creeping me out though."} I helplessly let out a soft chuckle at that as I crossed my legs in my seat while resting my head on my hand on the padded armrest. {"Anyway, are you guys done with your mission? Are you coming back now?"}

"Yeah. We've got out 'princess' from the evil clutches of the dragon." I said with a faint smile and regretted even opening my mouth while closing my eyes as Mary called me 'lame'.

{"Weird analogy, but whatever weirdo… Hurry up and get back, okay?"} She said blushing a bit and I 'awed' at her to her face as she quickly cut the call and I laughed.

{"You shouldn't tease her like that, Allie."} I raised my brow at Alyssa who was piloting the jet and heard her vocie in the ear I piece on my ear. Not only that, but 'Allie'? Huh, that was a first she's called me using a nickname. {"What?"}

"'Allie'?" I replied with a rather intrigued response as I stood up and walked to sit over in the co-pilot seat. "That's rather cute, don't you think?"

{"Oh, shut up. I don't see you trying to strengthen our bond. Besides, I could have called you 'Queenie'."}She said and I chuckled and groaned as we had a good laugh as she then began trying to find a good nickname for her as well. {"You like the nickname, don't you?"}

"Hmm… yeah. It's cute, and you gave it to me so sure, I'd be honored to have it." I replied candidly and without shame as I could hear her softly chuckle from the other side.

"Well, I'll eagerly await with what you come up with mine, 'Allie'." I smiled and already knew what to call her.

"I'll call you 'Ellie' from now on. We'll be a matching pair. How does that sound?" She remained silent for a bit before gently responding that she liked it. All-the-while, I stretched my back into my cozy chair as the adrenaline has pretty much cooled off my system and I was feeing tired… and sleepy.

{"Allie, we've got an incoming transmition."} As soon as Ellie spoke in my ear, my eyes opened softly and I reached over to the data-pad as I then began to check what the signal transmition was. It was a distress signal alert from a nearby from as far as LA.

"It's a distress call from an unmarked Umbrella black-site… " I say to convey my findings to Ellie.

{"it's yo ur call? But it could also be a trap."} It could very well be, but I had already made up my mind when I saw the video footage of the CCTV street cameras and among them, the picture of 'Alice', or rather, Alice-clones.

"Let's go. And activate the stealth for the jet and scramble the ongoing signals in the area as we approach. I relayed before getting up and walking down the cabin as I then reached seemless wall that opened up abruptly to show a mixture of wepaons, equipment and other tactical items.

I began suiting up and was quickly told we were approching the ruins of the once marvelous city of angels. Now reduced to a barren landscape of undead and sand as the air tasted almost stale.

{"Where do you want me to land?"} Ellie spoke through my earpiece and I was already standing at the back of the ramp as I pressed on a red button and the ramp opens up while I stood my ground as the air fiercely whipped aprund me.

"Just get me close enough to one of those rooftops. I'll to the rest and set up an LZ when we retrieve the girls. Over." I said fully shifting into mission-mode.

{"… be careful, Allie. Godspeed, over."} I smirked and then bolted out of the jet as I then felt myself weightless as my equipment rattled while the sound of wind surged past my face and for five solid seconds, I made no other sound until I skid to a halt over a rooftop and timed my landing with my telokenetic ability to disperse the weight of my landing and not get overly hurt, but it was killer on my heels.

"That felt kinda bada*s." I gathered my thoughts and raised my sleeve as I looked at a small HUD showing the local live CCTV feed and it pointed to where was Alice, no, her clones were and why were they attacking an overrun zombie nightclub?

Was this even canon anymore?

"No rest for the wicked, huh?" I said before I began making my way across rooftops and then proceeded to set-up shop at the rooftop a few buildings over with a clear view of the entrnace. The Alice-clones that went in around two hours ago seemed to had just fought their way out as the entire nightclub exploded as the three Alice-clones out of the eight that went in had managed to escape.

I could see the three Alice' were discombobulated due to the explosion that launched them out but the undead had no problem and I began rapidly mowing down the undead with pinpoint accuracy as I felt my blood in my ears as I moved like a well-oiled machine.

After around two minutes later, the team of Alice-survivors began moving toward a nearby armored car they must had brought and hidden and as soon as the mission was over, they rounded a corner almost like a scene out of a movie, the walls to the nightclub broke as an armored Titan of a truck bellowed out and the burning building and began opening fire and shooting at Alice's vehicle with the mounted turret on its roof.

I tried taking out the truck's wheels but those things were armroed as well.

"Sh*t!" I then called out to the Alice' and got a connection as I then began telling them where to go to shake the Umbrella doom-truck and could see their car won't last for more than a few minutes. "Drive down the next avenue. Dodge left when I give my signal."

I said and then hopped to a lower rooftop at a dead-end road as I then moved to rasied my coat as I thought it was going to be overkill to use it but I'm glad as heck I brought it with me.

Raising my granade launcher, I then flipped the safety and spun my wasit as I rested my elbows onto the solid roof as I looked down the narrow road and then heard the sound of gunfire as the forward car then drove down as the last building of the street was demolished by the speeding armored truck.

"Now!" I shouted and the car th Alice were driving skirt to the side just in time for me to fire in rapid succession as the grenades flew into an arc and within moments of striking the under the black armored truck, the explosions rocked it sideways and caused its to launch into the air as it flew off the road and crashed through cleanly into a nearby house as there was a resulting explosion… somehow.

I tossed the now empty launcher to the side and broke into a sprint as I then jumped onto the ledge and unhesitantly jumped off the roof and fell striaght down into the speeding car the Alice' were driving.

*Thud!*

Once I landed on the roof, I clipped my hook from my leather belt onto the railing above the SUV and only turned to look back as the f*cking armroed truck crashed through another building and nearly crashed into us as it picked up speed again as it's turrent was damaged but still trailing after us trying to run us off the road.

"Just great-" I touched my ear and spoke to Ellie as that house explosion already revealed my part in all this so now it's time for plan B. "Ellie, I'm gonna need that fire support after all!"

I raised my sun-machine gun that hung on my side and strarted firing back the side sof the truck opened to reveal Umbrella drones firing back at me as we drove dangerously fast across the subburs of LA.

The bullets whizzed past and around me as I kept my focus while holding on as the car jerked around narrow corners and alleyways and as a result of the chaotic air from the sharp turns made it difficult to land all my shots… however, I effective was able to pick two off before hearing Ellie's voice and listened to her instructions.

I broke from my firing and coruched down to the drivers seat window and pointed to rush striaght through that wooden wall as the Alice driving didn't hesitate to listen to me and drove striaght through the backyard of a suburban home and we then proceeded to find oursleves floating for a few seconds as we crashed down onto a ramp heading into the aquasucts of the city.

The armroed truck steamrolled through the building itself and kept pace with us as now we were in a more compromising position. I had to unclipped my hook and climbed down inside the back of the armored SUV as I said 'hi' to the other Alice who breathed a sigh to me as I held out my arm and tapped on my hand as I began seeing Ellie approch to do a strafe run and just as we were being rammed off the road from behind, I then leaned forward and grabbed the E-brake as I then used my other hand to spin the steering-wheel and snapped the brake back as the SUV spun into a series of flips but sharply managed to getting us out of the way of the armored vehicle that kept hit its breaks while still going forward and was ultimately too late as the thing got turned into scrap as Ellie reigned down literal destruction down onto it as the jet's cloaking came undone and the resulting explosion echoed within the surrounding area.

Having seen stars for a quick second, I gathered my thoughts and then kicked at the door with my full strenght as the armored door soon flew off its hinges and I climbed out of the upside-down SUV.

I checked in the others and they seemed worse-for-wear but looked fine.

"Ellie, a pick up, please." I said and heard Ellie respond as she began landing a bit near us on the bank.

{"Only because you asked nicely~."} I chuckled at that and sighed as I felt everything was numb and helped carry one of the clones as they seemed just happy they were still alive.

As Ellie landed, we loaded in and then fled as the area where we just were soon became swarmed with the undead.

Mary came over and hugged me and Ellie while we walked from the underground hanger. The other Alice-clones had taken to the showers while I carried the Mokoto-doppelgänger with her breifcase down in one of the many medical rooms as I then let the machines to their work sealing the room.

"Fractured both legs." I muttered while raking off my coat and then moved to reading the scanner as I saw she was healthy other than her legs. "Alright. This'll be easy enough to fix."

I then started a sequence to inject her with a healing agent that would set her bones back into place. It'll be a few hours before she could be back up on her feet again but she'll be fine overall.

I turned to study her suitcase on her eft arm that I set over her lap and left it. I next walked out before locking the door behind me and asked Red Queen to notify me when she wakes up.

I didn't want the woman to freak out thinking she was kidnapped by Umbrella again so I also asked Red Queen to show the woman the events easing to her being rescued by me and Ellie.

That'll hopfully go a long way to establish a bridge between us.

From there, I then headed to meet up with the other Alice-clones and ask them how they survived the bombing… or wherever the heck they came from.
