"Is there really no hope for the both of us?"

It was weird to hear these words under the bed where both Ivy and Dane were hiding. However, listening to her sentiments somehow pulled them into a quiet world where they were just the two of them. For a moment, the two of them forgot the situation they were in as if this issue was far more important than the chaos raging on. 

"Tell me, Mr. Zhang. Did you not like me, even a tiny bit after all these years?" Ivy added quietly.

Dane didn't answer for a long time. He kept his eyes on the back of her head, lips drawn into a thin and tight slash. 

Was there really no hope for the both of them?
