ตอน 21: Breakthrough

....SHIELD Helicarrier....
"Ugghh." Duke who was lying on an emergency bed suddenly opened his eyes and sat up with a groan. Seeing the unfamiliar surroundings, he immediately became alert and tried to move, only to realize his arms had been strapped and weird fluids were being administered into his system.
Calming himself, he began vibrating every inch of his body, including his cells, as reddish gold lightning began to streak across his body and his surroundings, causing sparks to fly around. Instantly, the heavy straps fell off his body as he got off the bed.
The moment he landed on the ground, his body began to vibrate at an unnatural frequency as he collapsed to the ground and began to convulse, a while later, he puked blood.
"What... is happening...to me.." His voice became hoarse, as tried to move, however, his muscles began to spasm and he fell to the ground and groaned in pain.
Crawling the the walls, he used them as s form of support and began to slowly move out.

"Your work with the Tesseract is what drew Loki and his allies to it. It is a signal to the realms that the earth is ready for a higher form of war." In a different room, all members of the newly created Avengers team along with Thor, Banner and Fury argued and glared at one another. SHIELD having been making weapons with the Tesseract and had been found out, as Nick Fury tried his best to explain the situation to the team...

Meanwhile, Duke was trying his best, using the walls to push himself forwards, as he his body kept on vibrating, and blood pooled in his mouth. The lightning was bursting out of his body in excess...

"Big man in a suit of armor, take that off and what are you?" "Genius, Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist." As they argued, Stark and Cap suddenly faced off, as they looked in each in the eyes.
"I know guys who have none of that, yet are worth ten of you." Cap suddenly said, as he clenched his fist.
"I've seen the footage. The only thing you really fight for is yourself. You may not be a threat,but you better stop pretending to be a hero." Cap added with a playful smirk.
"A hero, like you? You're a laboratory experiment Rogers. Everything that's special about you came out of a bottle." The moment those words came out of Stark's mouth, everyone stopped and suddenly looked at the two men facing off and subconsciously readied themselves.
"Thud!" Suddenly, they heard a thud, before they turned around and saw a bloodied Duke who had lighting bursting out of his body like a hedgehog. "You!!!" Duke immediately spotted Thor, as his emotions flared. Thor did not utter a single word. He only stretched forth his hand, and summoned Mjolnir.
The moment Duke began to gather the Speed Force energy inside his body, he convulsed once more, as his muscles spasmed and he collapsed to the ground. He felt like his body was being electrocuted by dozens of tree sized thunderbolts.
As he was about to fall, Nat instantly caught him in her arms. "Guys do something!" She looked at Banner and Stark who were the geniuses amongst everyone present.
"His cells have siphoned off too much energy from the Speed Force and are exploding from within. He needs to eject the excess energy, or he's going to die!" Banner said, as he walked towards them.
"Boom!"" Suddenly, a huge boom sounded out, as the Helicarrier shook. "What the hell is that?" Fury was thrown back, as he cursed.
"I'm about to find out." Stark said and rushed into a different room, as Cap rushed towards the source of the trouble.
"Banner, What should we do?" Nat said as she pointed at Duke.
"He needs an outlet for the excess energy." Banner said, before thinking for a moment and replying. "I have a way to save him, but it's dangerous." Banner said as he looked at Fury.
"Do it, Thor protect them." Fury thought for a moment and said, before rushing to the command center of the Helicarrier.
Entering the room he was placed in before, he was placed on the bed and strapped. "This might sound crazy, but I'm going to have to do a quick blood transfusion. The gamma rays in my blood have high ionization power, and electromagnetic properties. The ionization power won't affect him, because his cells have been tempered the cosmic lightning energy of the Speed Force, however, the electromagnetic radiation can act as a catalyst and power up his muscles for the time being, and within that time being, he must find an outlet and release the excess energy from the Speed Force. " Banner said, as he rolled up His sleeves.
" I do not understand a single thing you just said." Thor chuckled as he sat down. "Can't we just extract the energy from his body?" Nat asked as she saw Banner pick up a sterilized needle and inject it into himself, before drawing his own blood.
"We can't. Only a cosmic energy source can contain or cancel out another cosmic energy source, and last time I checked the Tesseract was still with Loki." Banner groaned, as he hurriedly pulled out the needle.
"Inject it now!" Banner immediately fell to the ground, his expression morphing to that of pain as his skin began to turn green.
Natasha grabbed the needle, grabbed Duke's left hand and before injecting the blood into his brachial artery directly.
Instantly his body began to convulse, as more and more lightning energy spewed out.
"Roar!!!" Banner instantly let out a huge roar, as Thor grabbed Nat and was about to make an escape when a huge fist instantly smashed into them, mostly Thor, and sent them flying.
"Bruce! Bruce! calm down, it's me, Nat, remember." Natasha instantly stood up and turned around. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw the green hulking monstrosity Banner had turned into.
She tried to use words to bring him back to his senses but to no avail. Instantly, the hulk roared out, and smashed his fist towards her.
"Boom!" Suddenly, a massive electromagnetic wave of energy burst out, as all the systems within the Helicarrier shut down, as Duke's tightly shut eyes instantly opened. Immediately time completely slowed down in his eyes, as he got up immediately and unstrapped himself.
Walking out slowly, he felt the new strength in his muscles, as well as the excess energy within his body. Leaning forward, his body moved, accompanied by a burst of reddish gold lightning which burst out in all directions.
He instantly blasted forward and grabbed Natasha who was about to smashed into meat paste by the Hulk and disappeared leaving a flurry of raging lightning bolts in his wake.
"Roar!!" The Hulk instantly roared out and was about to give chase, when Thor appeared with his mighty hammer and smashed the Hulk right in the jaw which sent him flying.
"Fury! What the hell is happening?" Suddenly Cap who was battling against some foreign mercenaries spoke as he tapped on his earphones.
"The system of the Helicarrier has been forcefully shut down due to a massive electromagnetic pulse. The engines have failed!" Fury said, as the everyone in the Helicarrier began to stumble. In the next second, the whole thing dropped from the sky from the very high altitude it was in.
"Shit! We need something to power up the engines." Fury roared out.
"I can take care of one engine, but that's my limit." Stark said and flew out to one of the engines. Instantly he began to push the wheels, while he moved rapidly.
However, his effort were in vain, as one engine could not support the entire Helicarrier.
"Can you do it?" In another room, Natasha stumbled, as she looked at the figure who had rescued her in a split second and had brought her here. He only tuned around and nodded before disappearing leaving behind lightning bolts and sparks.
"Stark, someone's here to help." Nat instantly tapped on her earpiece and said. "Who?" Stark asked as he groaned. "Why don't you see for yourself." He heard and raised his head, as he saw a barefooted figure walking towards him.
"I'll take it from here." Duke said only a few words, before he leaned forward and blasted away, leaving a reddish god lightning trail. The next instant, he appeared in the wheels of one of the engine, and began to move the wheels, as he moved at hypersonic speed.
"Whooo! " Soon whirling sounds began to be emitted, as the wheels of that particular engine was completely engaged in a rapid circular motion, faster than it was normally.
Within a micro second, Duke left that engine and rushed to the next engine and began to move the wheels around at hypersonic speed. The next second, he rushed towards the third, and then the fourth and repeated the cycle over and over creating what looked like a reddish gold barrier of lightning at the top of the SHIELD Helicarrier.
Instantly the Helicarrier slowed down its rate of descent dramatically, as the agents cheered. " Holy Shit!" Stark began to gawk at Duke's work, as he sent a video recording into SHIELD's main screen, as Fury and the other agents watched on in shock. The only thing they could see was reddish gold lightning trail that seemed to have created some sort of lightning boundary atop the Helicarrier.
