"Do you intend to get involved in this?"

Daredevil's eyebrows quirked under his mask as he solemnly "looked" toward Zhou Cheng and asked.

"Of course."

Zhou Cheng nodded affirmatively. "Had I been unaware, it would be another matter, but now that I've come across it, there's no reason for me not to act!"

Daredevil fell into a brief silence.

Yet, he said no more.

Being a superhero himself, committed to fighting crime, Daredevil could empathize with Zhou Cheng's decision.

Self-reflecting, Daredevil knew he would not stand idly by if their roles were reversed.

Isn't this what a superhero is meant to do?

Besides.

Now was not the time to play hero.

With such a formidable ally at their side, the safety of the hostages would have a greater guarantee.

How could Daredevil possibly refuse?

"Alright then, let's go together!"

"However, can you take me with you when you fly?"

Raising his head again, Daredevil made this single request to Zhou Cheng.

Though he could not see, using his radar sense, Daredevil knew that Zhou Cheng was capable of levitation and flight. Hitching a ride with Zhou Cheng was the fastest way to get to Pier 82.

Take Daredevil along?

Zhou Cheng fell into deep thought.

To be honest.

With his current strength, Zhou Cheng was confident in handling any ambush, regardless of its complexity.

He truly didn't need Daredevil.

But, on second thought.

Alright.

This situation was indeed different, considering the large number of hostages involved.

Zhou Cheng certainly couldn't just focus on dealing with the criminals and risk the hostages' safety, could he?

He did not want a repeat of what happened to Karen Page.

Because Zhou Cheng wasn't certain he could ensure the hostages would remain unharmed.

Taking all these factors into account, Zhou Cheng agreed.

Snap!

Grabbing Daredevil's shoulder with his hand, Zhou Cheng concentrated and sprouted wings.

Whoosh! In an instant, they soared into the night sky and disappeared from sight.

...

Guided by Daredevil's "human radar."

It took Zhou Cheng just over ten minutes to arrive at Pier 82.

Whoosh!

The two landed in a dark corner.

Looking ahead.

Before them was a series of wooden houses built along the water's edge, a multitude of shipping containers, and modular prefabricated structures.

Okay, Zhou Cheng started to feel somewhat relieved he brought Daredevil along.

Otherwise, he would have really struggled to find where the hostages were being held.

"Their heartbeats are fast, breathing is rapid, they're crying, they're frightened."

"They're being held there!"

Daredevil just cocked his head to listen for a moment before accurately pinpointing the hostages' location.

He pointed towards one of the wooden houses.

It went without saying that Daredevil's abilities made him incredibly convenient for reconnaissance.

"What about their defense forces?"

Zhou Cheng then asked another critical question.

"There are eight men, strong and burly, with a pungent smell of gunpowder. They are all armed."

Daredevil frowned slightly; such a setup was indeed troubling.

Even he felt considerable pressure facing them.

So, eight gunmen?

Zhou Cheng was mulling over other issues.

Based on his experience of "harvesting," ordinary gunmen could only contribute 3 primal source points each.

Of course, that was just for standard firearms like handguns.

If they had submachine guns, semi-automatic rifles, or other heavy weaponry...The value might be higher.

Nevertheless, no matter what, even if all the gunmen were using pistols, the haul from this operation wouldn't be meager.

"Let's divide the tasks, Daredevil!"

After a brief contemplation, Zhou Cheng quickly made a decision, "I'll deal with the gunmen and draw their attention, while you'll stealthily rescue the hostages."

The task Zhou Cheng had assigned to himself was quite dangerous.

But considering Zhou Cheng's bulletproof body and his exaggerated strength, Daredevil didn't fuss.

He immediately agreed.

He surely knew that this was the most logical and efficient approach.

"Let's get moving!"

After nodding at Daredevil, Zhou Cheng didn't waste any words and began to quickly approach the cabin.

Daredevil also swiftly conveyed his movements, leaping and running like an agile cat and vanished into the darkness.

Bang, bang, bang!

Arriving in front of the cabin, Zhou Cheng knocked on the door like he was visiting a neighbor.

"Who is it!"

A very deep voice sounded from inside.

Clang!

At the same time.

Zhou Cheng also heard the subtle sound of guns being cocked.

If he were Daredevil, Zhou Cheng would have noticed that the gunmen inside had been alerted.

Some were holding pistols, others were holding semi-automatic rifles, tiptoeing towards the direction of the doorway.

After a quick exchange.

One of the big guys wearing a leather jacket pressed the gun against the wooden door while carefully turning the doorknob.

Hm?

Zhou Cheng's eyebrows slightly raised.

Although he didn't have Daredevil's senses, he clearly saw the change of light under the door crack.

It was blocked by a shadow.

Obviously.

The gunman was there!

Did Zhou Cheng hesitate?

He threw a punch forward.

Clang!

With a loud noise, Zhou Cheng punched a big hole through the wooden door.

The gunman in leather shook violently and was sent flying backward, landing on the ground motionless like a dead dog.

What's going on?

The other gunmen were all taken by surprise.

The next moment.

Ratatat! Ratatat!

All of the gunmen mercilessly raised their guns and started firing wildly in the direction of the door.

In the pitch-black night, the ear-piercing gunfire was incredibly intimidating.

It spread far into the distance.

Splinters of wood burst out in all directions.

The wooden door and wall were instantly riddled with holes and reduced to splinters.

Whoosh!

Almost half a minute later.

A burly man with a scar on his face gave a signal, and then everyone stopped firing in unison.

Next.

Two individuals with semi-automatic rifles approached the doorway to check out the situation.

However, as they went out, they found out it was completely empty, with absolutely no bodies on the ground!

Not to mention bodies, not even a damn drop of blood!

So.

Was their entire barrage just shot into loneliness?

Damn it, who could evade that kind of shooting?

Whoosh!

Suddenly, a shadow sprang up from the ground.

The two gunmen immediately showed signs of alertness and looked in the opposite direction of the shadow.

And there, on the roof, was a figure.

A person wearing a mask!

A person with a pair of feathered wings on his back!

The reaction of the two gunmen was extremely quick; they raised their guns at Zhou Cheng immediately.

Ssst ssst ssst!

But before they could fire, Zhou Cheng shot several feathers that took them down.

Random questions: I'm probably going to translate Naruto : Starting as a Worker. This is already translated up to Chapter 68 by ZhouXi but he stopped translating it for two months already. Should I pick it up from the start and translate every chapter? Or translate a few chapters first to gain traction and then jump to Chapter 69 (haha funny number)?

It seems a bit redundant to translate every chapter again though.
