ตอน 3: 7 months later
Seven months have gone since I gave birth to my son Adrian. I named him after my brother who cried all through my son's naming ceremony and rubbing it in whoever's face that his nephew was his namesake.
Now I had only one problem, I needed a job and a good one too.
I had gone on more than 10 job searches in the tri-state area and none of them hired me, I studied law in the university and I wished to work as an intern at a lawfirm before opening mine but that dream just looked bleak as far as I was concerned.
Nothing I did could grab anyone's attention,not my ability to sort difficult issues or my ability to look good, that one is a plus one, and it was only because of one..no two persons, Zoey Ackerman and Jackson Hewitt...
I learned pretty quick that it wasn't good to step on the rich's toes cause it pisses them off.
After my little encounter with Zoey, she went on to leak my love life to the press and practically anything like that is considered as gossip in this part of Korea.
I got a few hateful comments from people and my parents even publicly disowned me for they claimed that I caused them shame wherever they went and that wasn't even the worst part...it caused a downslide in my career, no lawfirm would want to be associated with a black sheep like me..
The only good thing that happened to me in the course of this seven months was having my son.
Beep..Beep...Beep..
I woke up with a slight headache and eyebags for I had been up watching my 5 month old son who was always asleep during the day and awake during the night..
I looked up and I saw a reminder I had posted on the ceiling..yeah I am crazy like that, I forget things easily so I have to it this way so that I do not forget what i am supposed to do, my brother has called me crazy for doing that but it helps him too..
You have an interview with Knox enterprises by 9 am today...
Knox enterprises...Knox..Knox...
Why did that name sound so familiar?
Because you have a job interview there dummy...
I jolted and sat on the bed as I realized something,"I'm gonna be late"
I looked at the timer and it said 8:15...oh I still have time...wait..
8:15?!!!
I threw the covers off me and ran to the bathroom falling down twice and stumbling over a couple of baby things in the corner of the room.
"I'm gonna be lateeee", I sang as I stripped out of my pajamas and jumped into the bathtub...
I did my business while scattering all my hair products on the granite counter in the bathroom,"Where is it?"
I found my lucky hair gel and I applied a reasonable quantity..
I wore a black pencil gown ending at the knee and a pink jacket with white stilettos,
Picking a white purse to match, I headed towards my brother's room with Adrian crying in my arms..
"Adrian" I opened my brother's door and he jumped up from sleep, he was a light sleeper...
"Whaaat?", He groaned with his eyes half-closed,"I need you to babysit Adrian..I have job interview in a few minutes"
"No, Chloe is coming and she promised me something good"
Chloe is his girlfriend,"Please,I need this"
"Fine"
He stretched his hands and reached for my baby who stopped crying as soon as my brother carried him...Cheat...
"I swear that there is something that you do to my son that makes me wonder whether you carried him for 9 months"
"It's called being namesakes...now go"
He turned the other way and I kissed both him and my son on the cheeks and zoomed out of the house.
"Knox enterprises"
I told the cab driver as I settled in the back seat...
He stared at me for a while before turning his attention back on the road.
Knox enterprises, a really huge household name, there are so many branches under Knox enterprises...
Knox law team is the biggest law firm in the whole South Korea, if not the whole korea itself and It has it's branches...
Then there is Knox medicals, the biggest hospital that has branches all over asia...
Knox Household, electrical and household items...
And finally,
Knox Fashion house... basically the best fashion industry in the whole korea owned by the only daughter of Mr Knox senior..
He has 4 children...
Theo Knox, owner of Knox Household, cute funny, front cover of Teen magazine and Korea daily magazine...He's the first born child and a playboy...
Gianna Knox, she isn't the last born, she is the second actually, the best fashion designer I know, I emulate her fashion designs a lot.. she's pretty, a bit snobbish and rude and yes I have met her once when I was the girlfriend of Jackson...
Xavier Knox, the elder twin of the Knox twins and the doctor of the family, calm, smiles when required to and humble, he's my secret crush...
Xander Knox, cold, domineering, overbearing and completely closed off, he is the opposite of Xavier, the owner of the lawfirm that I want to work in...so that I can get close to the calmer of the twins, Xavier...
"Ma'am, we are here"...
I paid him his money and came down of the cab..here goes nothing....
