ตอน 80: Nearly A Lord.

After dealing with Zekram in a way that left him 'alive' but satisfied Romonus and Vespera, he teleported to the office where the standing Lord Bael used. After the shameful way that Romonus' uncle Azland was removed from office, his grandfather Demaenetus has been ruling ever since.

Romonus knew that his grandfather did not want to rule because the standing head usually wanted to pass off the position after a few centuries in control. For beings like Devils, who usually lived 10,000 years, spending long stretches at a time dealing with the annoying responsibilities of being a Lord became far too dull.

Even Zekram refused to stay in power for his entire 10,000-year life. He did so as soon as he could pass it on, which is why Azland was such an unpopular Lord Bael. He made Zekram effectively make all the decisions, which was not something Zekram wanted to do all the time.

That is why Romonus wanted to talk to his grandfather. They were outside his office, but he decided to check on Vespera first. From the look on her face, she was not too bothered about what she just did.

"How are you holding up?"

Vespera moved a hand through her hair, moving her silver bangs out of the side. They stood out on her pitch-black hair.

"I am golden. I have wanted to make that bastard feel even a fraction of the pain he made me endure. This is worse than what he made me endure because I know it will eat at his pride. That useless pride is what he values the most, and now it might as well be dead."

He reached down and patted her shoulder with a smile on his face.

"Agreed."

Azi Dahaka snickered.

"Truly a most funny revenge. Making him an undead while stuck in his own body."

Romonus was starting to find Azi funny. The dragon just understood him.

"I know."

While Azi and Romonus chuckled about what they did to Zekram, Natsume patted Vespera on the back.

"I am glad you got your revenge. Out of all of us, you were the one who suffered the most for a time I can't comprehend."

Rias felt the same.

"I know. 8,000 years of pure suffering would have left anyone broken. I am happy for you that it is over now."

Silvana also had some encouraging words.

"If you ever need a friend to talk to, we are here for you."

Vespera chuckled as this was one of the best parts of Romonus' harem. It was small, so they knew each other well and were all friends.

"I will keep that in mind. Latia, no friendly words?"

Everyone turned to Latia, who reached out and patted Vepera's head. It was tricky because Vespera, Silvana, and Itsuki were the tallest of the harem. They were 6'5, 6'3,and 6'2, respectively.

"I am glad everything turned out ok."

Vespera rolled her eyes because Latia was doing it on purpose.

"I am fine. Can we get this over with?"

Romonus smirked as he walked forward and opened the door.

"Grandpa, it's me, Romonus."

When he opened the door, he saw his grandfather sitting at the desk behind a computer screen. Demaenetus looked up from the computer, but when he saw Romonus, he was completely shocked.

He got up from his desk before walking toward Romonus. When he reached him, he had to crane his head up, and he didn't have to do that ever. He was one of the tallest Bael men; only his friend Avivoton made him do that.

"What in the name of Lucifer have you been eating? You are as tall as Avivoton now, but the beard is nice. You look like a proper Bael."

Romonus smirked as he patted his grandfather on the shoulder.

"It is still a secret, but Azazel built me a Time Chamber where you can train for a year with only a day passing outside. I have used it five times in the last three years, making me 21."

Demaenetus was honestly impressed. He believed Romonus because Rias and Latia were much older than they should have been. Silvana didn't look any different, and he didn't know who Vespera or Natsume were to make a judgment.

"If Azazel starts to sell them, leave your grandpa a good word."

Romonus didn't mind doing that because Demaenetus had always supported him.

"I can call him now, but I wanted to talk to you before that. I have made a decision. I wish to take up the title of Lord Bael, but I need someone I trust to rule in my place."

Demaenetus held his hands out.

"Not me; I already retired and am just holding the title for you."

Romonus shook his head.

"I know that I was thinking about Sairaorg. I want him to hold down the fort for me while I use my status as Lord Bael to make decisions."

Demaenetus nodded.

"I get it; you want the status of being Lord Bael but not having to deal with all of the politics."

Romonus nodded.

"I will do my part as Lord Bael once I finish my goals. I need Sairaorg to do this for a decade or two. Since he wanted to be Lord Bael before I took the status as heir, I don't think he would mind.

But at the moment, I don't have the time to do that. I am going to need the status of Lord Bael in the coming years because things are going to get hectic. The status that brings will make my future goals much easier to complete."

Demaenetus didn't need to consider it long because Romonus was quite smart.

"I don't have a problem with it. Let us schedule a date to discuss how this will work out."

Romonus didn't see a point in delaying long.

"Tomorrow is good. I will explain my full plan and why I must do this."

Azi Dahaka, from his shoulder, extended his three heads in three different ways.

"You won't want to miss out."

"It will bring you glory."

"And it will be brutal."

Demaenetus squinted his eyes.

"I will bite; who is that dragon?"

Romonus smirked.

"Azi Dahaka. Back from the dead."

Azi flicked his three tounges at Demaenetus.

"A pleasure for you, I am sure."

Demaenetus went quiet as he looked at the dark purple three-headed dragon on Romonus' shoulder.

"How in the nine circles did you get that Evil Dragon?"

Romonus smirked.

"One of my brides-to-be has the Sephiroth Graal. I want to stay and chat, but I got to go."

Demaenetus nodded.

"Go on. I can handle things until your coronation."

Without waiting, Romonus teleported them all back to his house. As usual, he did so in the living room, but by then, most of his lovers and apprentices had split into groups. With his senses, he could tell they were getting ready for the attacks on his targets because they would be brutal and direct.

As for him, he would also get ready in his way.

"Tomorrow, I will return to Castle Bael to become the next Lord Bael. That way, I will have direct control over the Legions of the Bael Clan, which will be helpful in future wars. Once I become a Demon God, I am sure a few pantheons will try to test me, so we better be ready for them."

Latia closed her eyes as she pictured it.

"In that case, I will prepare for that in my way. I am glad my uncle helped me move my underground workshop. I could begin mass production of Automatons. They could be helpful."

Vespera also had an idea.

"I could begin to make thralls for then."

Romonus felt those were good ideas.

"Sounds good. Vespera, take your pick of prisons in the world and start mass-producing thralls and slaves for yourself. Just check if they are truly guilty. Latia, you can use my money to buy raw materials for the automatons."

Vespera teleported away in a flash of red and purple while Latia walked off to get to her underground workshop. It was where she built her Destroyer and where she could build massive numbers of robots or worse.

Silvana smiled as she opened her hand, and her scythe Agrona emerged from her shadow. She twirled the large black-purple scythe before resting it on her shoulder.

"To prepare for the raid, I will be taking a trip to the wild sections of the Underworld. I am going to begin making an undead army. Excuse me."

She teleported away in a flash of black flames, leading just Natsume and Rias. They couldn't make armies but wanted to be ready for the assault. Natsume turned to Romonus.

"Do you mind going to the Time Chamber with me soon?"

Romonus nodded.

"No problem. I was planning to spend a year or two there, but I have something to do now."

Natsume didn't mind. With a smile, she walked off with Griffin on her shoulder.

"Got it."

Once he and Rias were alone, he held his hand out for her.

"You ready to see Dad?"

Rias took his hand with a nod.

"Yes, let's see how he is doing."

Romonus teleported them to the Gremory Estate, where his grandmother was still in control. Three years ago, when she called him, he and Rias had visited him to see how he was holding up.

Not good because when they saw him, he had sunken cheeks, black eye shadows, and his crimson hair seemed to be thining. He didn't look worse because Chysis had medicated him and placed him in therapy to deal with his issues, and now, three years later, he was doing better.

He was not great, but he was a little better at the minimum. When Romonus and Rias arrived at the Estate, they did so directly in front of Zeoticus' office. The door was open, and Chysis noticed their arrival.

Unlike Demaenetus, Sirzechs, or Serafall, she didn't have a computer, which he would need to tell her about. It made doing paperwork much easier and freed up their time. Chysis exited her desk and left the office to speak directly to Romonus and Rias.

"Please tell me you are here to see your Father? It's been almost a year since your last visit. I also won't ask why you two look older than the last time you visited."

Romonus and Rias could tell she was unhappy because her usually droopy eyes were more sharp. Romonus reached up and began to scratch under the chin of Azi Dahaka's middle head. He was already treating Azi like a pet, but with how powerful Romonus was, Azi didn't mind.

"We are. Is he in his room as usual?"

Chysis nodded.

"Yes. Marcina has been busy getting him to take his meds, but he is improving. He sometimes talks about how he wants Venelana to come back."

Romonus coughed, which made Rias elbow him in the ribs. Chysis squinted her eyes because she was not dumb.

"What happened? Did Venelana find a new lover or something?"

Romonus and Rias knew she did because Romonus was her lover, but they lied. Romonus tried to change the subject.

"No. She just told me that she is not looking to get remarried after her divorce."

Chysis sighed.

"I was hoping that they had a chance to get back together. After centuries together, I would assume that she at least had some lingering feelings for my son."

Rias almost laughed as she remembered what she, Venelana, and Romonus had done the other week. She nearly clenched her thighs together because the absolute pounding she got was out of this world.

She and Romonus looked at each other before looking away and smiling. Chysis either didn't catch that or ignored it. Romonus and Rias walked off to see their father, not to let it slip. Chysis returned to the office while they walked off.

(Should I go back and write that chapter? While I can write Smut chapters, they are so irritating to write.)
