Chương 69: C65 Outing w/ Ruby

As of this chapter, the patreòn is 4 chapters ahead at chapter 66. I'll probably be writing and posting some more chapters for patrons today. Also there are 6 chapters of the Naruto story on the patreòn as well.

Once again I supply a riddle. Hand over them power stones. A man was found dead next to a 13 story building. The police say it was a suicide, but you say it was a homicide (someone killed him). To prove this, you go to each floor on the building, open the window, and toss a penny out. You do this to each floor until you reach the 13th floor, open the window, and toss a penny out. How does this prove it wasn't a suicide? Enjoy the chapter.)
"What are you doing in here!?" Aella yelled as she did her best to cover herself up.
"The same reason you're here. To take a bath." I said as I snapped out of my shock.
"Well, its already occupied, so please leave." She says as she looks around the bath for a towel.
The baths in the palace are huge, and are meant to be shared. It's pretty late right now, so Aella must of thought no one would walk in on her. Seeing her looking around for a towel, I turn around and grab one from behind the door.
"Here take this." I say and throw her the towel.
That throw was a calculated move, as the second she went to grab the towel Aella revealed what she was covering.
'Yeah, this marriage thing doesn't seem so bad.'
She sees my eyes scanning her body, but it was to late as I've already seen everything. She quickly covers herself with the towel and glares at me.
"You did that on purpose!" She accuses me as she points her finger at me.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I deny her accusation with a small smile on my face.
"*Humph* Don't talk to me anymore."
She storms her way out of the bathroom. On her way out I just kept staring at her beautiful legs. The towel can only cover so much after all.
"Goodnight, beautiful." I call out as she slams the door behind her.
After a short bath, I went straight to my room and fell asleep. When breakfast was finished the next morning, I told Ruby to meet me in the entrance hall for our outing. I didn't call it a date like i did with her sister because I didn't want to get her hopes up. I'll have to speak to her and explain that I'm not interested in the nicest way possible. I don't want to give the poor girl a complex after all.
Once she arrived at the entrance hall, I took her out to the carriage. When we were both safely in the carriage, I turned to Ruby and prepared myself for this hopefully not awkward conversation.
"Ruby, I would like to say a few things before we get to know each other." I say as she looks at me waiting for me to continue. "I don't plan on marrying you. It's not because you're ugly, as you are very pretty. It's also not because I don't like you, as I don't know you yet. The reason is simply that I like older woman, so if this marriage contract were to go through it would be with your sister." I try my best to say this without making her feel bad.
"You... you don't want to marry me?" She says with tears glistening in her eyes.
"No, I don't. Although I would like to be friends with you, and if I do end up marrying your sister then you would be my sister as well."
"I don't have many friends, or a brother." She says as she wipes away the tears. "I'll be your friend as long as you aren't a mean person." Ruby says matter of factly.
"Well, I can guarantee that I'm not a mean person." I have the erg to say 'scouts honor' but this world doesn't have Boy Scouts, and I wasn't even a Boy Scout back on earth.
"Hehe, if you were a mean person then you wouldn't just admit to it, now would you?" She giggles and rolls her eyes.
"Oh, you must have a lot of experience with mean people since you know so much." I joke, but her face looks like I may have been right about that. "Where do you want to go on out little outing?" I ask to change the subject.
"Umm, I don't know. Somewhere fun, I guess." Ruby says as she seems to calm down a bit.
"Alright, I'll come up with some fun places for us to go."
I then instruct the guards to take us to a certain place. On the way to our destination, Ruby and I talked about random things. From our favorite colors to our worst injuries. Mine would be small injuries I got from training, and Ruby broke her arm when she was 6. She was climbing a tree and fell out of it landing in her left arm. It's a good thing she isn't a normal citizen, or else her arm may be deformed right now.
When we arrived at our destination, the guards open the doors to the carriage. In front of us stands a tall marble building with pillars surrounding it.
"What is this place?" Ruby asks from her place beside me.
"This is an auction house! Today is the day that they will be auctioning off normal goods. Like clothes, jewelry, furniture, rare foods, etc."
"Ohh, that's interesting, but I didn't bring any money." She says with a dejected look on her face.
"That's fine. I'll pay for whatever you want." Ruby is about to refuse but i interrupt her. "This auction will have nothing to expensive in it, so buy whatever you want. I can easily afford to buy everything in this auction house 10 times over." I say with confidence and lead her into the building.
The auction itself didn't last long. I bought Ruby some clothes and rare foods. Not much seemed to catch her eye, but Ruby seemed to have fun merely watching the auction. After the auction ended, I took her back to the palace for lunch. I decided to make lunch for her like I made dinner for her sister. When we arrived at the palace, I had the kitchens cleared again.
"Are you actually going to cook, Syrin?" Ruby asked.
"Yup, never seen a prince cook before?" I ask.
"No, I haven't. Although, you're the only prince I've ever met."
"Well, just sit back and watch me work my magic."
This time I decided to make some fried rice and dumplings. While I was cooking, Ruby just stared at me like I was some sort of an anomaly. When dinner was ready and I served up our plates, she just stared at it like it would poison her.
"Look it's perfectly fine." I say and eat some off my plate. "See, no poison."
Ruby hesitantly eats some rice, and a smile forms on her face. After the first bite, she started stuffing her face faster and faster.
"I guess you like my cooking, huh?"
Noticing how she was eating, Ruby blushes and continues eating at a more calm pace. After she was done stuffing her cute little face, I took her back to her room. No kiss or anything like the last time. This isn't a date like it was with her sister after all.
