New Orleans- The Hollow
It was time. Now with the Mikaelson's back in New Orleans, she could finally proceed with her plans. Marcel still being MIA was a bit disappointing but she could deal with him once she had her original body back. Her disciples had already gained one of her bones (Papa Tunde's Blade) and now she only needed the other three.
One of the bones locations laid in the hands of Haley Marshall-Lebonair. The others should still be in the original guardian's bloodline's hands. The best way for her bones to be found fast and easily would be to let her enemy do all the work. Allowing the Mikaelson's know of her bones was a risk but she knew they couldn't be destroyed so she went ahead with her plan.
Once they gathered all of her bones, she would then strike. She would use the death of the original vampires to power the ritual with enough power to bring her body back. Then with her body, she would no longer be bound to this city and would be free. Her first actions would be to kill off the Lebonari line, then punish Marcel, and then absorb the power of the unknown one that stopped her original plan.
In order for this to work, she would need to take on a host. She had decided on taking over a vampire due to their limited immortality. She had no use in taking over a witch as she still had access to her magic even inside a vampire's body and becoming a wolf was just beneath her. Luckily she had a suitable vampire in mind.
Sofya was walking down a deserted street that night when she was suddenly surrounded by blue light. Before she could do anything the light was absorbed into her and she was locked inside her own mind as something else took control of her body.
New Orleans - Mikaelson's
Freya had sent word to Vincent about their arrival and their willingness to help take down The Hollow. Of course, he was skeptical but arrived at their compound just as they did. They revealed to him the situation about Hope since they knew he believed her to be dead the same as Marcel had. Now no details were revealed, they just said that they had been able to change her magical signature before the spell had run its course.
Haley made a trip out to the Bayou to visit Mary and explain to her everything that was happening. It was with that visit that Mary revealed to Haley that her husband had been drawing The Hollow's symbol before he had killed her parents. Mary gave the journal to Haley in hopes that it could help her protect Hope.
It was revealed through the journal that The Hollow had been indeed talking to Mary's husband and he had targeted her parents on The Hollow's order. Their only option was to see if Haley could recover any memory of the event that could give them some lead. With Freya's help, Haley went through a ritual that would show the memory of her parents' deaths.
Haley's Memory
The memory started off normal, with her parents holding her in what she believed was her nursery. She could feel her younger self's emotions and knew that she was happy and loved. Her mother was gently rocking her back and forth as she sang her a song. Her dad was standing right with them and had a huge smile on his face as he brought them into a hug.
The next moment a banging could be heard and her mother held her tighter before placing her in her crib. Her father looked towards the front door. He looked back at her mother and said "I can't let them find it."
He then walked out of the room and a commotion was heard. Her mother ran to her father's aid but didn't get very far. Haley could see the living room from her crib so she had a clear view of her parents dying. Before he died her father looked towards her while slipping a key into the floorboards.
End of Haley's Memory
Haley was jerked back into the real world with a gasp. She had tears running down her face but her heart was filled with love. For her entire life, she had believed that her parents hadn't wanted her and now she finally knew the absolute truth. They had not only wanted her, but they loved her and died trying to protect her and everyone else.
While this was going on Elijah, Klaus and Vincent were doing something incredibly stupid. They knew that they did not have enough power on their own to defeat The Hollow, so they decided to make a new link with the witch ancestors of New Orleans. The only way that this could happen was if they performed the Harvest ritual.
Now this ritual was supposed to be done by a New Orleans Coven elder which they did not have. Freya might have had enough authority to allow Hope to leave the coven but in the eyes of the ancestors, she wasn't an elder. It was decided to see if Davina could help them. This was a big risk since The Mikaelson's were the ones to kill and trap her where she was. They hoped that she would be willing to look past that since the fate of the entire world rested on them defeating The Hollow.
Vincent went to the Cauldron and explained the situation to the witches that had remained in the city. None of them wanted to be linked back to the Ancestors but they all knew that it had to be done. Four teenagers volunteered to do the ritual.
When they had gotten back to the cemetery the girls were placed on the altar. Vincent went and gathered Davina's skull and sat it at the head of the altar. He then slit the girl's throats and with their own blood marked their foreheads with crosses before doing the same with Davina's skull. He then started to chant.
"Renasic, sacrificare debemus. Magicae marcescunt, sicut ligamenta maiorun nostrorum tempore debilitant. Hanc oblationem quaesumus Domine in signum nostrae fidei suscipe. Nasci, immolare oportet. Post messem autem venit messio. Sacrificia eorum facta et accepta. Seniores nostros ad resuscitandas electos vocamus."
(To be reborn, we must sacrifice. Our magic fades as our ties to our ancestors weaken over time. We beseech them accept this offering as a sign of our faith. To be born, you must sacrifice. After the harvest comes the reaping. Their sacrifices made and accepted we call upon our elders to resurrect their chosen ones.)
When nothing started to happen Vincent then started to make a plea to Davina's skull.
"Please, Davina. I know you have earned your rest and I am sorry for disturbing it but we need your help. The Hollow has returned and we need help to defeat her. You are the only one strong enough to forcefully make the connection with the ancestors, please."
There was complete silence in the graveyard but then the sky darkened and the wind started to blow. The four girls on the altar all shot up into sitting positions gasping for breath. It had worked, the offering had been accepted and the link had been made. They now had enough power to stop the Hollow. The girls looked to where Elijah and Klaus were standing and said together "You are not welcomed here anymore" With a wave of their hand both Elijah and Klaus found themselves outside the cemetery.
"Well that is just great" Klaus ranted.
"Well considering our past actions did you expect anything else," Elijah said as he straightened his suit jacket.
Back with Freya and Haley. They had figured out that the key went to a storage unit. Inside the unit, they found an ancient jawbone. When Haley touched the bone she felt the same coldness she had felt when she had entered Hope's dream. This is what they were after, this is what the Hollow had wanted from her parents. This bone is what her parents died protecting.
Josh (Marcel's right-hand vampire for those of you who haven't watched the Originals) had been doing his own research and had found that every time The Hollow had appeared in the past, certain groups of killings had also happened in four different parts of the city. Upon further research, it was also discovered all the victims were related to the same four werewolf bloodlines. Lockwood, Lebonair, Delrobles, and Hale. (I don't actually know the fourth family so I used the Hale name from Teen Wolf. No this won't be a crossover with that show.)
Later that day everyone met at the compound to reveal all they had found that day. Vincent then revealed that Daviana was going to help them but the harvest girls said that they had preparations to make first.
As of that moment, the harvest girls were gathering thorns that had grown out of Marcel's spilled blood. These thorns were the only things that could kill an Original other than Marcel's venom.
With Josh's research and Haley's discovery, it was then theorized that there must be three more bones out there.
Tunde's Blade had originally been in possession of the Hale pack before Papa Tunde had destroyed the pack to retrieve it. They had then realized that the bone had been stolen from the safe that Marcel had placed the bone in. They could only guess that the Hollow already had that bone. Haley was in possession of the bone from her family and there were too many Delrobles to count in the city let alone find out which one had the bone. Lockwood however was a different story. The only Lockwood werewolf left was Tyler Lockwood and due to the circumstances of his past, they were guessing the bone was probably still at the remains of the Lockwood Mansion.
It was decided that Freya would place the Jaw Bone in a boundary spell in the compound. She decided to tie the spell to her life so she could make sure that nobody took it.
They then called Alaric, he and Caroline would search the old burnt ruins of the Lockwood Estate, to see if the bone was there. They would then keep the bone in a magically suppressed box (courtesy of the goblins) within a boundary spell at the school in the basement. This way The Hollow couldn't use magic to locate it and nobody could touch it.
When they located the bone they also found a ledger of the other bones and their last known guardian. With this, they were able to find out that the last guardian in the Delrobles family had decided to be buried with the bone. Now the cemetery that he had been buried in had been relocated due to all the flooding. Unfortunately, there had been a fire in the courthouse housing the files of where the graves had been moved to. This meant they had no idea which of the hundreds of crypts and cemeteries in New Orleans now housed the bone.
When Marcel had overheard that particular phone call he smiled. The next time Caroline brought him a blood bag he decided to bargain for his freedom.
"So I hear you have hit a dead end on the search a certain Delrobles grave," Marcel said with a smirk.
"You know Marcel, it is not nice to eavesdrop on private conversations," Caroline said.
"Well, I'm locked in a magically sealed cell with absolutely nothing to do," Marcel said.
Caroline decided to not humor him and started to walk out of the room.
"I might be able to get my memory going enough to remember the locations of where that certain cemetery was relocated to," Marcel said as Caroline stopped and turned around "For a price of course."
"Let me guess," Caroline said as she put her hand on her hip "You want out of here."
"Yep," Marcel said, "But ill do you one better and offer my services to take down this Hollow."
"And why would you do that?" Caroline asked
"Because this isn't about you, me, or the Mikaelson's right now," Marcel said standing up and walking to his cell door. "That Witch Bit** Spirit not only went after people in MY CITY, but more importantly she went after children. My number one rule is to never hurt a child. I don't care who that child is. CHILDREN ARE OFF-LIMITS IN MY BOOK."
Caroline could see that he was telling the truth. "Let me make a phone call."
Caroline called Klaus and explained the situation. While he didn't like the option of having to turn Marcel loose at this moment he saw the benefit of it, so reluctantly he told her to make a deal with him. It was decided though that instead of him returning to New Orleans he wanted Marcel to stay there and do what he had always done best. Protect the Children. Marcel agreed to this and he was soon released from his cell.
Alaric and Caroline had also been keeping Axetooth up to date on what was happening with The Hollow and the goblins were at their disposal, for the right price of course. They were greedy little things after all.
Ryson was also keeping a close eye on the situation. It had been a week since his dad left and his core was now stabilized enough for him to be let off bed rest. Hope was now in the process of having her core unlocked. Ryson remembers reading about how the Potter Manor was created and the one thing that was stuck in his mind was the ward stone. Now a brand new ward stone takes a lot of power to charge up but with the correct runes placed on it, it would only have to be charged once before it could gather magic from its surroundings.
Ryson overheard the conversation about the bones and knew that the bones would have to be magically linked to the spirit. The spirit was also very powerful, probably had more than enough power to charge up a new ward stone to protect the school. If he could get his hands on the bone then he and the twins could siphon the magic from The Hollow and place it into the ward stone.
When he told the adults about his idea, they were absolutely speechless.
"Alaric, can I ask you a question," Ryson asked as they were sitting down to eat dinner.
"Of course son," Alaric said.
By this time everyone was already sitting down.
"Is it possible to siphon The Hollow's magic through her bone and then use that magic to power a goblin-made ward stone for the school?"
Caroline literally facepalmed herself as her brain processed what Ryson asked. "Please tell me that we did spend hours upon hours researching ways to defeat The Hollow and we didn't even think of the simplest solution."
"Well you know what they say," Alaric said "Most of the time the simplest solutions are usually the best."
Alaric contacted the goblins and Caroline contacted Klaus. It was agreed that this was actually the best option they had. Due to the age of the Hollow and its strength though the magic would have to be purified before it was placed into the ward stone otherwise the stone would be corrupted. That is easily fixable with a purification rune scheme on the stone.
Any magic absorbed by the stone with this rune would be purified before being stored. The stone had all the common wards: Anti-Fire, Anti-Damage, Multiple Protection Wards, Non-detectable ward, Mail Wards, Magical creature Wards, and lots more. The Stone would even release excess magic into the ground allowing the ground to become healthier and in turn produce better plants. This would also allow magical ingredients to be able to grow there. The school would be just as protected as any ancient manor house and could possibly even rival Hogwarts Wards. The number of wards was always dependent on the amount of magic that was available to charge the stone. This is why most ward stones had only the most basic wards on them. In this case, power was not at issue.
Their biggest problem is the time it would take to make and place the stone. The earliest it could happen was two weeks. This meant they had to keep the Hollow occupied for two weeks and hopefully not lose anybody. The first week passed quickly and quietly, which had everyone worried. It was known that calmness always came before a storm.
Eight days after the Harvest Ritual was when everything started. The Harvest Girls had finally contacted The Mikaelson's and said for Haley and Klaus to meet them at a church. When they arrived they were ambushed.
They woke up in the church but it wasn't in the real world. All around them The Hollow's blue light showed. Before they could say anything Davina Claire walked into the church with a smile on her face. After some bickering, she revealed who The Hollow was and her story.
Long before the founding of New Orleans, two rival Native American tribes of witches decided to unite. Two members from the tribes married and that marriage bore a child, named Inadu. During the pregnancy, the tribe elders imbued Inadu with magic. They were hoping the child would be a sign of prosperity. Instead, she ended up becoming ruthless and power-hungry. The seven tribes eventually united to defeat her. They finally subsided her and each of the elders put some of their magic into an ax which her mother then used to kill her. Before she was killed though she cast one last spell. The spell would be powered by her death. The spell cursed all those who were there that night to the full moon. She created the werewolf curse. The seven tribes were then turned into the original seven werewolf packs.
After she told them that she then brought Haley back to real-world while Klaus was still in the spirit world. Davina then explained to Haley how she was descended from the same bloodline. Inadu was a Lebonair. This meant that Haley and Hope were a danger to her as they were the only ones who could truly kill her. She then told Haley of her plan to kill Klaus and use the magic from his death to trap the Hollow in the spirit world forever. The harvest girls then came out of hiding with the thorns.
Haley tried to stop them but she was held in place with magic. Before the girls could make a move towards Klaus though the church doors blasted inward with enough force that they shattered. Standing at the doors was a huge black wolf cub covered in shadows and a very pissed-off five-year-old Ryson.
"Touch my father and I'll kill you," Ryson said with his eyes flashing amber while a fireball formed in his hand.
Earlier in Mystic Falls
Ryson was outside playing with Hope and Lizzie while Josie was having her core unlocked. Then he suddenly was standing behind Klaus and Haley in a church lit with blue light. He tried to get their attention but his hand went straight through them. Then Davina came and started explaining everything. When she brought Haley out she unknowingly brought Ryson with her. As soon as Ryson heard that the witch was planning on killing his dad he saw red.
He didn't know what happened but he was suddenly back in his body at school. He had fallen to the ground and his entire coven-pack was around him (except Josie, bedrest). His eyes glowed amber and he let out a rage-filled scream and disappeared in a mist of shadows. He reappeared in front of the church. He busted through the doors with one thought in his mind. Protect his dad.
The Harvest girls looked towards the duo and attempted to put him and Coal to sleep but before the knew it they were thrown backward. Ryson stalked forward as multiple pops were heard. Ryson unknowingly used his Alpha bond and magic to bring his pack to him. Jasmine and Jasper took their spots right behind him. Jed was beside Jasmine and Jackson was beside Jasper. They all had their eyes glowing, claws extended and were ready to strike.
Davina (in her spirit form) tried to intervene but found herself back in the spirit world with Klaus. Klaus had heard everything and was pissed. Ryson broke the salt boundary spell keeping Haley and Klaus in place before siphoning the sleep magic from his dad. Klaus woke up with a start and was ready to tear the harvest girl's throats out before Haley stopped him.
When the girls had stood up Haley explained their plan for the Hollow. After some back and forth and talking with Davinia they allowed them to try things their way first but if they failed they would then follow through with their plan. They did agree to distract the Hollow for the next week to give them a chance to get the ward stone done.
Ryson refused to leave his dad's side after this incident and his pack refused to leave his side. It was agreed that they would stay with them at the compound until it was time to siphon the bone. They couldn't leave and let The Hollow that something was going on.
The next week passed both quickly and slowly. During the week the Harvest girls did as they said they would and kept the Hollow distracted from the real plan. Klaus spent the week bonding with his son in both human and wolf form. The pack was always surrounding the two of them as their instincts were on high alert. Elijah and Freya took the time to pack up the compound, knowing they wouldn't be returning to the city any time soon.
Finally, the ward stone was finished and it was time. They took a portkey back to the school. Only Ryson, Josie, Lizzie, Axetooth, and Freya would be present as the Hollow was drained and the ward stone was charged. This was due to the limited space available where the ward stone was placed. Which was a cavern in the center of the school's land about 50 ft below the ground. You could only access the cavern through magical means and had to know the passcode placed on the location or you would end up in Antarctica. Goblins did not mess around with ward stone protections.
The ward stone was made of black marble and as tall as Klaus and wider than all the adults combined. It was covered in carved runes. As each rune charge up it would turn gold.
The finger bone was placed in a salt circle next to the ward stone. This gave them just enough room to circle both the bone and the ward stone. Ryson and the twins didn't waste any time. They started chanting "Hoc magicae et covertam in praesidium" (Take this magic and turn it into protection) while they siphoned the Hollow's magic.
It took an hour for any results to show but finally, blue tendrils started to flow from the bone and into the ward stone. The tendrils then went through the purification process rune scheme and started flowing through the other rune schemes. After 6 long hours and many pepper up potions spelled into the children's stomachs, it was finally done. As soon as the last of the blue magic flew into the stone and all the runes were golden the three children collapsed.
They were rushed back to the school where it was deemed they were suffering from magical exhaustion but would be fine after a long rest and a magical replenishing potion.
I know the ending is a bit rushed but I have a headache that won't go away. If I missed anything tell me and I'll fix it after my headache is gone. Please review and Comment
