"…ward.....Ed….Edward!"
Awakened by the call of his name, Edward groggily woke up. He calmly rubbed his head and yawned for a few seconds before slowly turning to the owner of the voice.
"...Hello, Alice."
The girl named Alice sighed and gently placed her hand on Edward's head.
"Come on, Edward, go wash your face before Mom gets here, or she'll lecture you again."
Edward flinched at the thought of his angry mother and quickly left his bed. Before leaving the room in the direction of the bathroom, he turned to Alice with a big smile.
"Thank you, big sister. I love you!"
Alice smiled gently before feigning anger. "Go hurry up instead of talking nonsense!"
Edward also smiled back before leaving the room laughing.
Arriving in the bathroom, he took the bucket of water he had prepared the day before and quickly cleaned his face.
As he finished cleaning his face, a ray of sunlight shone on him, forcing him to squint for a moment to adjust. Finally, he turned his gaze to the window where the sun was coming from and saw a large tree in bloom.
'So it's spring. Time flies… It's already been three years since I reincarnated into this body…'
Edward smiled sadly, remembering the confusion he had felt in his first year about being in an infant body.
Eventually, Edward went back to his room and got dressed quickly. He then walked to the garden where his sister Alice was hanging out the laundry.
"Alice, where is Mom? Didn't I see her in the house?"
Alice turned to him and sneered, "She's already gone to the fields a long time ago, you know. It's already 9 o'clock."
Edward's eyes widened. "Nine o'clock already! I slept so long!"
Alice laughed. "Yes, Mom tried to wake you up unsuccessfully. Prepare for her fury later, hehe."
Edward swallowed heavily. "But you told me earlier that she hadn't arrived yet…"
"Did I say that? No memory."
Edward sighed. "Actually, it doesn't matter… Well, I'm going outside. Have a nice day!"
Alice smiled. "Yes, have fun and make friends!"
Edward responded with a small smile and quietly left.
'No chance of me making any friends since my brothers described me to everyone as a demon or whatever…'
Edward was reincarnated into a large family and, since birth, he had always behaved differently from other children. A moment later, Edward walked around the tree and picked up a wooden sword he had left the day before. This sword belonged to one of his older brothers; it was an old toy, and the tip of the sword was broken, but Edward didn't really mind.
Edward then began to swing the sword in the air, up and down. For him, it was practice, but from an external point of view, it seemed rather cute to see a child swinging a sword not adapted to his size.
A few minutes later, Edward dropped the sword and lay on the ground, exhausted. His training may not have looked like much, but he had asked an adventurer passing through the village to show him how to do it, and after a few compliments, the adventurer happily showed him.
Edward slowly caught his breath and raised his arm in front of his face, palm outstretched to the sky.
"Come to me, beautiful ball of water!"
…Nothing happened. Edward flashed an embarrassed smile at his failed attempt to perform magic and sat with his back leaning against the large tree, enjoying the shade of its leaves.

And to his great surprise, he had recognized the face! It was Roxy, the private guardian of Rudeus, the protagonist of an anime he had watched in his previous life!
The realization that he was now part of this world as an unnamed figure had kept him up late at night, hence his late awakening this morning.
With this information, his desire to learn magic and sword skills greatly increased, and now he knew more or less where to ask to learn.
