Chương 10: Meeting With Superiors
Aether had a very, very long day in the inn, not being able to feel his legs anymore, Paimon stayed outside while everything was happening so she can only say she heard what was going on, "Are you okay?" she asked the boy who was still laying in bed, "I can't move my legs, but otherwise, I'm fine." Aether reassured before turning to Sibley who just came out of the room's bathroom wearing only a towel, "Sholdn't you have gotten dressed?" Aether asked while blushing and looking away, "You literally saw this and more a few minutes ago." Sibley retorted, getting Aether to look at her, "You make a fair point." He relented as he watched her get dressed.
When Sibley finished getting dresed, she looked at Aether, "Can you move?" She asked with a raised eyebrow, "Does it look like it?" Aether responded sarcastically, "Fair enough." Sibley said looking to the side, "Hey, since you can't move, if you don't mind I'm gonna go look around, knowing our luck I probably won't get another chance for it." Sibley said before heading out, "Don't get in trouble!" Paimon warned as she watched the SpiritCatcher exit, "Is it me or is she incredibly thin?" She asked Aether, "She is, her bones are very visible." He confirmed.
Outside.
"It's much higher than Mondstat's walls." Sibley thought looking at the different levels of the Harbor. She began walking around, smelling the salty sea water when she turned to see the boats parked near the coast, "I wonder if the Matrix has any information about this place." She thought before asking the Matrix, making it display a lot of information about Liyue, "Well a general overview is better than nothing." She rationalized as she started reading, "Under the protection of the Geo Archon, I already knew that... Probably the second richest Region in Teyvat? Impressive! It's economy is based completely on commerce and contracts, not bad at all for a system like that." She complimented before exiting the file and checking the map.
When she opened the map, she noticed something new on it, "Did I place a waypoint by mistake? No that wasn't in the list... Speaking of pins though." She though as she place a waypoint on her current location, "Still what is that thing?" She thought as she looked at the weird symbol on the map, and noticed it was moving, "Is there some kind of symbol list I can check?" She asked the Matrix which opened a tab displaying all possible symbols, "Let's see... Spirit, Phantasm, Warden... SpiritCatcher? And it's the same- wait is there another SpiritCatcher here in Liyue currently?" She wondered as she closed the tab and tapped the Symbol on the map.
Upon tapping the symbol, a new tab opened displaying information, "It is another SpiritCatcher!" She thought excitedly as she read the information, "There's two? Luna and Sol, twins that died at... four? Oh dear... They've been SpiritCatchers for a hundred years and both Elite Rank." Sibley read, before deciding on something, "I want to meet them." She thought as she formed a Grapple Gun in her hand, "Thank you Batman." She joked before carefully checking the direction the two are in and used the Grapple Gun to get there.
Now in the location, Sibley looked around to see if she could find them, and after a bit of searching, she spotted two children with Freedom Matrixes on their arms sitting at a table, "There!" She thought as she went over, catching their attention, "So, I'm guessing you're Luna." She pointed to the girl, "And you're Sol." she pointed to the boy, "Is that correct?" She asked for confirmation, "...Yes." Luna started, "How do you know?" Sol finished, prompting Sibley to show them her Freedom Matrix, "I'm your junior." She told the two.

Luna and Sol looked at the Freedom Matrix in surprise, "Another SpiritCatcher here?" Sol Started, "And a Novice at that?" Luna continued, "Shiva Samba never tells anyone anything." Sol lamented, "Don't take it personally, I didn't know there were other SpiritCatcher's in Teyvat." Sibley told the two children, "So You've been assigned to this world?" Luna asked, "Spirits have been gettin restless around here." Sol rationalized, "I'll say, I died to a Chaotic Poltergeist that possessed a hat of all things." Sibley told them, "Chaotic Poltergeist?" Sol asked, "That's rare." Luna commented.
Sibley decided to take a seat with them since they had a lot to share, "Chaotic Poltergeists are rare? I met two in the span of two days though." She informed them, "Two!?" Luna exclaimed in shock, "In that little time!?" Sol exclaimed right after, "Are they really that rare?" Sibley asked, surprised at their reaction, "The rarest!" Sol confirmed, "We've only found six!" Luna added, "Total!" Sol clarified, "Wait, during your whole carrier you only ever found six!?" Sibley exclaimed in shock, "How did I meet two in a row then?" She asked confused, "Teyvat is full of dead people." Sol informed, "It's possible that a lot of them became Poltergeists." Luna added, "But for one to be Chaotic, their death must have been horrible." Sol pointed out.
Thinking about it carefully, Sibley remembered that the first one she found was in a symbol of a hero, and the second was in the hat of a possible killer, "Yeah, I can see that." She said thinking about those moments, "By the way." Sol Started, "We're here cause someone broke a multiersal law." Luna finished, "Multiversal Law? There's something like that?" Sibley asked confused, "Oh yeah! you're Novice Rank!" Luna remembered, "It's after intermediate that you'll start dealing with those." Sol explained, "I see... What law was broken?" Sibley asked.
Luna took a moment to check her Matrix, "Says here that a God was killed." She told Sibley, "Wait, right here in Liyue? The Geo Archon?" She asked the two, "Rex Lapis, exactly." Sol confirmed, "I thought that would have been something you should take care of immediatly." Sibley pointed out, "We will begin the investigation tomorrow at the Rite of Descension." Luna started, "Supposedly Morax should arrive here when it happens." Sol finished, "Or his corpse, I'm guessing the scan function can give the cause of death and who caused it?" Sibley threw out there, "Fortunately yes." Luna confirmed, "Makes our job much easier." Sol added.
Sibley nodded in understanding, "Guess I'll leave you two to it tomorrow then, unless I somehow manage to rank up today." She jockingly said, "How many spirits did you catch so far?" Sol asked, "Three total." Sibley replied, "you're missing five before you can rank up." Luna informed, "Wait, there's a work quota to fill before you can rank up?" Sibley asked, "Yeah, that's how it works." Sol confirmed, "Don't know why it doesn't say what the work quota is though." Sol lamented.
"Hey, does this table belong to anyone?" Sibley asked pointing at the table they were sitting at, "No it doesn't." Luna replied, "I made it." Sol explained, "Perfect! Means we don't have a time limit." Sibley said before forming a campfire in the middle of the table using Pyro energy she secretly got from Klee, "What are you doing?" Luna and Sol asked at the same time, "Just wait a moment." Sibley told the two before forming a weird machine on the ground next to them and sending some boar meat from her storage to it, and it spat out a plate of raw skewers, "Nothing like roasting them yourself." She said while handing Luna and Sol some skewers and then taking her own before holding them over the fire.
Seeing what Sibley was doing, Luna and Sol joined in, happy to see that a SpiritCatcher born not even for a week is taking all this in stride, "This might be stretching it." Luna started, "But you wouldn't happen to have any salt would you?" Sol finished with a question, "I actually do." Sibley replied, as she formed a bowl on the table and put the salt from her storage in it, "Wait." Sol said, "How?" Luna asked, "I filtered some from saltwater about two days ago and had some left over." Sibley explained, "Oh right, sifters." Luna remembered, "A Freedom Matrix can make those too..." Sol finished, the two slapping themselves since they forgot that.
After They Ate the Skewers and Chatted Some More.
"So you're traveling?" Luna asked, "With both the Outlander and his Companion?" Sol added, "Yeah, it's been eventful." Sibley told the two, "They might as well be Abyss Order enemy number two." Luna commented, "The number one is Diluc from Mondstat." Sol clarified, "Yeah, I met him, but I didn't scan him, what's his deal?" Sibley asked curiously, "He's like Batman from your world." Luna simplified, "Only without a costume." Sol added, "From what I gathered he's rich and his parents died, so fits the bill." Sibley noted.
Sol took a moment to check his Matrix, "Looks like there's an Assaulter running rampant on Remnant." He read the message, "We'll go deal with it before dealing with the problem here." Luna informed Sibley, "Wait, isn't that in another world?" She asked having caught on how things work in that regard, "SpiritCatchers can open portals to different worlds, but it's reserved for Senior Rank Catchers." Sol explained, "Senior is the Rank between Intermediate and Elite." Luna added, "I see, so I guess I'll see you tomorrow maybe." Sibley said getting up from her seat since Sol was about to cancel it.
After a little stretch, Luna formed a portal, "Oh trust me, we will se eachother tomorrow." She reassured, "Even novices get involved if necessary." Sol informed before waving goodbye and stepping through the portal along with Luna before the portal closed. Sibley waved too as the portal closed, then she stopped and looked around since she felt observed, "This feeling... There's a Fatui member watching me isn't there?" She called out, seeing a ginger flinch at being discovered this easily, and a girl inconspicuously going away.
"Ahh well, I wasn't really planning to be sneaky either way." He said as he approached, but stopped when a crosshair floated in his face, "Which one is your name? Tartaglia, Childe or Ajax?" She asked reading the three different names listed, "I- You- Just call me Childe." He said in surprise, not expecting that question, "Alright, says here you're the 11th Harbringer, not sure what that is, but you are one." Sibley narrowed her eyes in confusion, "I... You're definetly the one Signora was talking about." Childe nodded having confirmed his hunch.
They looked at eachother for a bit, not really knowing what to say, "Are you here to avenge your coworker or something?" Sibley asked, ready to form a weapon if necessary, "No, I may like fighting, but I'm not suicidal." Childe refuted, "By the way, if I'm not mistaken I saw that you were with someone else, where is she?" Sibley asked wanting to know where the girl went, "I thought she was being pretty sneaky, well, she's here to do what Signora what supposed to." Childe explained, "I wounde her that badly?" Sibley asked with a raised eyebrow, "It's more due to the bloodloss, she had lots of holes in her body." Childe correctd, "Yeah, that was me..." Sibley muttered remembering the bear trap she made.
Sibley looked to the side as she thought back to that fight and noticed Aether and Paimon approaching to her, "Hey you can walk again!" Sibley noticed, not realizing Childe scurried away, "I still can't walk that well right now..." Aether frowned at her, "Say, where did the guy you were talking to go?" Paimon asked having noticed that Childe left, "Huh? I didn't even notice he left..." Sibley muttered not seeing the Harbringer around anymore, "Anyways, do I have some stuff to tell you." Sibley said to the two as she began talking.
