Chương 11: Chapter 11: Shadows Brewing

In the wake of the encounter with Kurogiri and the subsequent meeting with Aizawa, Kazuki found himself called to a gathering of UA's teaching staff. The room, typically reserved for academic discussions, now hosted an assembly of heroes and educators.

Present were Midnight, Cementoss, Present Mic, Ectoplasm, Snipe and more teachers, with only Aizawa, thirteen and the Symbol of Peace missing.

Kazuki, taking the lead, opened the discussion. "I'll be briefing everyone on my recent encounter with the intruder."

After saying so, he stepped forward, a calm authority in his demeanour. "The living mist possesses a quirk that manipulates fogs. His motives remain unclear, but he sought something within UA. Most probably, information."

Cementoss, arms crossed, raised an eyebrow and asked the boy a question. "How did the intruder enter your barrier?"

Kazuki nodded, acknowledging the question before answering "I'm not sure... But he might be able to teleport using his quirk."

Midnight, her gaze penetrating, spoke up. "So, we're dealing with a villain who may be able to teleport?"

Hearing her words, Kazuki nodded in response, confirming her thoughts before speaking once again. "He also said something about the dance of shadows..."

As Kazuki said these words, thoughts entered his mind once again. However, in the wake of his thoughts, an unsettling truth lingered—the dance of shadows had only just begun.

"Dance of shadows?" Nezu, the principal of U.A. asked, looking at the white-haired boy with confusion.

"Yes... I'm not sure what he meant by that." Kazuki said while casting a quick glance at the teachers.

"Interesting..." The principal muttered as the meeting continued.

"By the way, where's Blink-Blanket?" The white-haired boy asked, looking at the teachers and noticing that his homeroom teacher wasn't present in the meeting.

"He's with thirteen and your classmates in the U.S.J." One of the teachers answered.

"Do I need to be with them?" Kazuki asked a question once again.

"No, we need to talk about this first." The Chimera principal answered before continuing, "Can you narrate what happened in the information room?"

As Kazuki heard that he didn't need to go, he let out a long sigh of relief before slumping down on an available chair, his serious face turning into one filled with exhaustion.

"Let me rest first... I used a lot of my energy and stamina in that fight..." Kazuki said, exhaustion clearly noticeable in his voice as he gave everyone in the room a quick glance.

"Do you want something to drink?" A low voice coming from Recovery Girl was heard.

"I should be good..." The white-haired boy answered as he inhaled and exhaled slowly, clearly showing his exhaustion from his earlier fight.

With this occurring, the meeting came to a pause for a few minutes before resuming when Kazuki stood up.

"So, what happened was-" As Kazuki started to retell the tale of his battle in the information room, the door suddenly flew open.

An extremely skinny, or a skeleton man was seen with steam radiating from his body. This man immediately entered the room while everyone stared at him.

(AN: This is not a mistake)

"I didn't realize there was a meeting... I apologize, please continue..." The man said in a low voice, sheepishly scratching his head because of his earlier action.

"All Might? Aren't you supposed to be in the U.S.J. with Class 1-A?" One of the teachers asked.

As the words of this teacher entered the skinny man's ear which was revealed to be All Might, the number 1 hero, everyone in the room stared looked at the latter, confusion and curiosity in their eyes as they wondered what the Number 1 hero was doing here when he is supposed to be teaching a class.

All Might, who heard the teacher's words immediately froze as all the colour in his face vanished. "Uhh... Well... You see..." he stuttered a few times, trying to think of a way to get out of the mess.

"Did you run out of juice again?" A hero in a red outfit, Vlad King asked, looking at the number 1 hero.

"Yeah..." All Might sheepishly answered back while scratching his head and avoiding the teacher's glances.

"Let me guess, you went out and took care of some villains again?" Recovery girl with an irritated voice before letting out a sigh.

To her words, All Might just nodded while going to a free seat and sitting on it, still avoiding everyone's gaze. "It's my duty..." He said, trying to defend himself.

"Yes, you're right... However, you're also a teacher now. You need to get your priorities right." The principal said, taking in All Might's perspective before reprimanding him. He then continued to speak, "But let's talk about that later. We have a bigger issue at hand..."

"Oh? Did something happen while I was out?" All Might said, looking at Principal Nezu for answers.

"Let the little mage tell you what happened." He answered back while everyone's gaze fell on the said "Little Mage".

"A living mist got past UA's defence system, went into the information room, fought me, then escaped..." The boy said, summarizing what happened in a too-simple manner.

As the number 1 hero heard this, his face was immediately full of surprise. After all, he knows quite well how absurd the defence system is. Then there was also Kazuki Tanaka, a boy that most UA staff recognize as the next symbol of peace. To be able to get past and defence system, fight Kazuki and escape is something that most villains wouldn't even think of doing. Adding to that, he believes that the number of villains that can do such a feat can even be counted in his hands.

"How?" All Might finally spoke after a few seconds of silence.

"We don't have a clue." The boy answered back. "That's why we're having this meeting."

"If there is no problem, I believe our Little Mage can retell the tale of his battle." The principal chimed in.

After saying so, he didn't receive any objections and thus, the white-haired hero in training received a green light to go and retell his tale.

"Originally, I was eating lunch with my classmates before suddenly, my magical barrier activates. I immediately got on guard and as I expected the alarm rang." Kazuki narrated.

"After the alarm, I planned to go with my classmates, however, before I could do so, I sensed someone enter U.A.. Usually, I can't just sense anyone, however, with a barrier in place, I can sense anything that happens inside it."

"After sensing it, I immediately went to the location of the invader and it led me to the information room. As I entered, I saw what I think is a villain that was covered in mist. I-"

As the white-haired student was about to continue, he was interrupted by a worried voice coming from one of the teachers, specifically, the Symbol of Peace.

"Sorry to interrupt you Young Tanaka, however, with the villains potentially having information on us, wouldn't it be bad to let class 1-A go to the USJ?" The Symbol of Peace asked.

"We should be good, as far as I know, he wasn't able to get anything before I came in. Can I continue now?" Kazuki answered before asking if he could continue to which All Might nodded.

"As I entered, the villain immediately sent mist in my direction. I think he wanted to cover me with the mist but before he could completely cover me, I was able to blow it away. It went on like that for a few minutes before I went on the attack and used a fire spell to try and damage him."

"Surprisingly, his body wasn't affected and the fire was absorbed by the mist. So, I tried to attack him with my constructs but it also was still useless. By then, I came to the conclusion that the mist is immune to most attacks and I first need to remove the mist before I could deal damage."

"With that thought, I sent out winds while also sending out constructs but the villain just kept dodging so I slowly increased the number of constructs and the strength of the wind. But because of that, my energy consumption also increased so I knew that I needed to end it."

"To end it, I decided to use special chains that can restrict a person from using his quirk and I also imbued it with winds. However, as I attacked, he covered himself in mist and said "The dance of shadows never truly ends, Hero. Until we meet again". After saying so, the mist slowly vanished and the villain was also gone." The white-haired boy said, finally finishing.

After Kazuki's tale, the atmosphere grew more tense, filled with the weight of recent events and the urgency to uncover the truth.

Kazuki who was partially the reason because of this fidgeted slightly, his mind racing with theories and questions. He took a deep breath and decided to voice the one that had been bothering him the most.

"Now that I think of it, why did the barriers even activate?" he asked, looking directly at the U.A. staff "Earlier, the barrier around the school activated. I set mine to only activate when the U.A.'s barrier broke or someone where to try and attack U.A.. So, what destroyed the barrier?"

The staff exchanged a glance with Principal Nezu and then glanced at All Might before responding. "There was a lot of press in the entrance waiting for All Might. Then suddenly, The barrier was destroyed. We believe it's because of some villain... " Present Mic explained.

Principal Nezu nodded, adding, "And with the mysterious Mist Villain you encountered, I now believe that this is the work of a group of villains. Using the press as a distraction to possibly steal information."

"Truly an interesting turn of events..." The R-rated hero muttered, before licking her lips seductively.

The meeting then continued with discussions on strengthening security protocols and strategies to counter the unknown threat.

As it continued, the white-haired boy suddenly spoke up. "May I leave now? I want to play around in the USJ for a bit."

"Go ahead Little Wizard!" The principal answered cheerfully while nodding his head.

Immediately, after getting the green light to go, he stood up and started to do intricate motions with his 2 hands, causing orange sparks to form. As he continued to do so, the spark grew and soon turned into a circle with a view of the inside of the USJ.

"I'll get going then." Kazuki said as he waved at the teachers before walking to the portal.

"Huh, Is that Tanaka-san's portal?" A voice coming from the portal was heard as everyone in the room saw Class 1-A in the USJ while Class 1-A saw some of the teacher in the meeting.

'Good thing I'm in the opposite direction...' One of the teachers thought as he looked at the portal that came out of the orange sparks.

"Yup." Kazuki answered as he prepared to enter the portal. However, before he could, everyone in the meeting heard something that they never expected.

"STAY BACK! THEY ARE REAL VILLAINS!""
