Chương 5: Leveling Up

[Time skips 8 years]

You can observe a boy running through the forest, skillfully dodging trees. An elderly woman is nearby, attentively watching him: "The tree on your right." The boy immediately stops in midair and with a flicker of his finger throws a red orb at the tree. The tree seems made of paper and falls down together with the other trees behind it. "Good work, Sleepy; now, let's go eat something." "Sure, grandma."

[Perseus POV]

Eight years have flown by since the day of my awakening. With guidance from my grandmother, I embarked on a journey of systematic training, honing my abilities and crafting new skills tailored for combat.

At the beginning, I was filled with plenty of motivation, diligently training every day. However, as time passed, my determination wavered, leading me to seek help from grandma. Little did I know, it would turn out to be the worst decision of my life. She took my request seriously and went to great lengths to assist me. If I failed to wake up on time, she'd resort to telekinesis, throwing me from bed, sometimes straight into the icy pond below. If my results weren't an improvement from the day before, she'd double my workload. I couldn't even use the excuse of being injured, as grandma was well aware of my fast regeneration and healing spell. The simple recall of how I spent these eight years sends shivers down my spine — all for the pursuit of power... *sniff* I-I'm not crying.

While walking to the castle, I took out my grimoire and checked my stats.

Name: Perseus Caesar

Race: Voidwhisper

Age: 14

Stats:

- Health 249/256 (Body*18.3281); Health Regeneration (25.6 Hp/min)

- Mana 142/714 (Mind*18.3281); Mana Regeneration (71.4 M/min)

- Body: 14 (normal Human 10)

- Mind: 39 (normal Human 10)

Talents: Celestial Eyes (Darling of Space);

Skills:

Meditation (Lv.10); Infinity (Lv.8); Lapse-Blue (Lv.7); Reversal-Red (Lv.8); Mending (LV.9); Spatial compression (Lv.7); God-step (LV.6); Spatial-bag (Lv.9); Celestial Seal (Lv.5);

As you can see, I learned and leveled up a few new skills in these six years.

- Spatial compression (Skill): Compress space to become an object (cost 10 M/min).

I can basically step on it or even conjure a weapon that dissolves when Mana isn't put in.

- God-step (Skill): Teleport wherever you see (cost: 1 meter = 10 Mana).

It is a skill that I copied from the novel "The Beginning after the End" where the protagonist uses spatial nodes to teleport. From outside, it seems that I walk, but with every step that I take, I can teleport even a few kilometres.

- Spatial bag: Pocket dimension.

It's just a space that I created so that I can put my things… yeah, nothing else.

- Celestial seal (Skill): Applies celestial runes to allies, granting healing, protection, and a telepathic link (cost 400 M).

I thought it, so that my beloved can be save, and when in need, I can just teleport near them.

Observably, some skills are lower than the others, because I wanted to concentrate first on mastering some, and the higher the level, the more time I must spend mastering them. I also learned through observation that for every level, there is a certain proficiency that needs to be reached. Furthermore, I get some bonuses, like instant casting, for every level reached. For now, it goes like this:

Lv.0: Theoretical understanding of how the skill should work.

Lv.1: Can use the skill in real life; slow casting, low accuracy, and consumes a significant amount of mana and stamina.

Lv.2: Reduced mana/stamina consumption.

Lv.3: Improved accuracy.

Lv.4: Increased casting speed.

Lv.5: Enhanced power and range.

Lv.6: Gain control over the input/output, allowing manipulation of the skill's effects.

Lv.7: Achieve perfect accuracy.

Lv.8: Instant casting time.

Lv.9: Drastically reduced resource consumption

Lv.10 (MAX): The ability to throw the spell once, and it multiplies the quality or quantity itself n-times without consuming extra mana.

You can additionally discover that my Health/Mana multiplier has grown. That's because whenever I have time, I will divide the Alpha-cells so that all my body is covered in it. For now, I have covered three-quarters of my body. I assume that when the multiplier reaches 20, I will reach the maximal multiplier with these alpha-cells. Then after that, I will see if I can somehow mutate a group of cells and see if there are better versions than alpha-cells and so on.

I join Grandma at the table, indulging in a sumptuous meal together. Amid the feast, she begins to talk.

"Percy, you have made enormous progress over the past few years. Now, you are probably one of the most powerful psychics I know, and coupled with your beauty, you will become renowned throughout the world.

I am very happy for you, but I am saddened that, because you were homeschooled, you don't have anybody else except me. That's why I've decided to send you to Nevermore Academy, a school for outcasts like us.

I attended there myself, and I had a wonderful experience. I hope you will also find happiness there. Before you say anything, I have already enrolled you, and you will start school tomorrow."

I am shocked, not because my grandma enrolled me against my will in a school, but because the name Nevermore Academy clicked in my mind. I am in the world of the Netflix series "Wednesday"!

The show follows Wednesday Addams' years as a student, where she attempts to master her emerging psychic abilities, foil a killing spree, and solve the mystery surrounding her parents.

I remember that I loved watching it, and my favorite characters were Wednesday and Enid. I must get to know them and conquer them! I mean, what did you expect? I got reincarnated and now I find myself powerful enough to protect myself; the only thing that is missing is a harem, then I would be happy for the rest of my life... I am a man who finds joy in simple things.

"Percy, are you okay? I know it's hard for you, but I will not change my opinion and will send you there, no matter if you are angry with me."

"Oh, it's okay."

"I know you don't want to, but… what? Oh… okay."

************

Author Note:

I understand that I've skipped over a significant amount of time and events, but the readers are not here to witness a nobody's gradual growth; instead, they're here for the journey of a nobody in the world of Wednesday.

Regarding the levels, I acknowledge they may seem high, but it took eight years of dedicated training to reach this point. It wouldn't make sense for the character to make more progress in a few months at the academy than in eight years with a qualified teacher.

See you tomorrow. :)
