The guild were meant to protect the people and their employees (to a reasonable extent) not extract as much wealth as possible for their duties!

Dude, I dunno what you read but 9/10 most systems give their hosts the option to do quests. It's just the quests rewards are too tantalizing or they were already going to do what the quest wants
