To be honest, I’m not sure how my book comes across to those reading it. But I want to take a moment to clarify something. The female lead is mentally ill, and I’ve associated her character with a well-known disorder. However, despite all the research I’ve done, I felt uncomfortable directly naming the disorder, as I didn't want to risk misrepresenting or stereotyping people who live with it. My intention was always to portray her in a way that felt authentic, but I wasn’t able to dive as deeply into the disorder as I’d hoped. So instead of labeling it, I chose to refer to it as "xxxx" to avoid potentially offending anyone without having done thorough research.
