Chapter 11: It's No Longer Me
While I was running and trying to keep an eye on Reaper, something strange latched onto me. I must have stepped on it without realizing—it crawled up my leg and sank into my body.
> "Perfect... I've been waiting for this moment. Wait... this body... it's dead?!"
> "What the hell is this?! My body...!!"
Crack.
A sharp, chilling snap echoed through my mind. I was suddenly disconnected—no longer in control. All I could do was watch as my own body twisted and shifted into something grotesque.
> "Damn. It's hard to control a dead host, but it'll do... for now."
The thing spoke in a language I couldn't understand. My body darkened, slimy matter coating its skin. He was trying to reshape it—seeking a better form.
Then, whoosh—he vanished, reappearing behind Reaper.
> "You're back to help me? Wait—"
SLAM.
Reaper was sent flying, crashing into a wall with enough force to dent the steel. Before he could recover, a portal opened and pulled him away.
> "Tsk. Lost the better body... no matter. There's still another one."
The creature floated toward Dr. Alrin, lifting him like a toy.
> "This isn't a body either?! Just a machine?!"
Furious, it tore through another portal—seeking a new host.
And me?
I was dragged along, trapped in the void between dimensions, forced to witness everything...
without being able to scream.
