I hadn't expected Nolan Harrington to move so quickly.

The moment I said those words, he took me straight to the bridal shop.

We began designing the wedding dress.

Then he immediately informed his family and started arranging the betrothal gifts, invitations, wedding house—everything.

After my measurements were taken, I stepped out and saw Ezra on the phone.

The moment he saw me, Ezra ran over and handed me the phone.

"Auntie, I'm sorry—someone called you and I accidentally answered while playing a game on your phone. I didn't mean to!"

I glanced at the screen. It was an unfamiliar number.

From the other end came a trembling, furious voice:

"Lucille, you've gone too far!"

I was briefly startled—

then understood.

I hung up the call and gently patted Ezra's little head.

"It's alright, Ezra. Go ahead and keep playing."

Oscar Sterling never imagined that when the call finally connected, he would hear something like that.
