The names of the astronauts of Divine Nine were Jing Haipeng, Liu Wang, and Liu Yang. The names of the Shenshi astronauts were Nie Haisheng, Zhang Xiaoguang, and Wang Yaping.

The crew consisted of one second-batch astronaut and two third-batch astronauts. They were the youngest astronauts on average since the start of the space station construction mission. Tang Hongbo was a first-class astronaut of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Astronauts Brigade. He was a senior colonel in the Army and had a master's degree. He was once the captain of a certain regiment of the Air Force and was awarded the title of Air Force First Class pilot. Tang Shengjie was born in 1989 and was the youngest in this round. The backup astronauts were Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping, and Ye Guangfu. Nie Haisheng had participated in the Shenzhou-6 and Shenzhou-10 manned missions, Liu Boming had participated in the Shenzhou-7 manned mission, and Tang Hongbo was flying for the first time. Shenzhou 12 will be launched at 9:22 Beijing time on June 17.

The crew of Shenzhou 18 had been announced. The crew consisted of three astronauts, Ye Guangfu, Li Cong, and Li Guangsu, with Ye Guangfu as the commander. The three astronauts were all born in the 1980s. They would carry out the Shenzhou 18 manned flight mission. Ye Guangfu had carried out the Shenzhou-13 mission before, while Li Cong and Li Guangsu were on their first mission. The Shenzhou 18 mission would last for six months, and Ye Guangfu would become China's first astronaut with a total flight duration of one year. This mission was China's second manned launch mission this year and the world's fourth manned launch mission this year.

The astronauts of the Shenzhou 16 spacecraft were Jing Haipeng, Zhu Yangzhu, and Gui Haichao.
