Black and White Ghosts

The Black and White Ghosts were called siblings on the surface in Painting of the Bad People of Jianghu, but they were not actually related by blood. They were two orphans adopted by General Chang Jin under Zhu Wen and later became the Black and White Impermanences under the Underworld Emperor. Therefore, according to the information provided, the Black and White Ghosts were not siblings.

There were many versions of the story of the Black and White Ghosts, but the most common story was that they were originally a pair of good brothers, named Fan Wujiu and Xie Bian. They lived in an ordinary village and were like brothers since they were young. One day, they went out to do some work and walked under a bridge. The sky was gray and it was about to rain heavily. White Impermanence wanted to go back and get the umbrella, so he asked Black Impermanence to wait under the bridge. After White Impermanence left, it began to rain heavily and the river began to rise. Black Impermanence didn't choose to leave. Instead, he continued to wait. When White Impermanence returned, he couldn't find Black Impermanence. White Impermanence watched his good brother being washed away by the flood and chose to hang himself on the bridge pillar. After the two of them died, they went to the King of Hell. In this story, the Black and White Ghosts were given this name by the King of Hell because of their loyalty and faith, and they became the great gods of the Underworld.

Seeing the Black and White Impermanence was a legendary phenomenon. According to different theories, it might have different meanings and omens. Among them, players were recommended to farm at the Storm Summit or the Blood Moon. There were two White Impermanences in these places, so the efficiency would be higher.
