Dump That Jerk, I’m Off to College
The night before the college entrance exam, after parting ways with Oliver Thornton, I ran into him again at a bar. Someone beside him asked:
“Oliver, did Sophia really promise you she wouldn’t do the last math problem?”
Oliver let out a soft, careless laugh and knocked back a mouthful of his drink.
“She’s stupid. Of course she’d agree.”
Across the crowd, my heart clenched.
“But, Oliver, if you and Sophia get into the same school, are you really going to be with her?”
Oliver’s tone turned mocking as he lifted his leg to walk away. “I’m allergic to idiots. She’ll have to see if she’s even worthy.”
Hidden behind the crowd, I curled my fingers tight and shoved the pendant I’d begged for back into my palm.
