The Last Month Before
Ren Takahe lives an ordinary life in Osaka half-Japanese, half-American, and obsessed with zombie movies and games. But thirty days before the world ends, he’s forced to confront a terrifying reality: a deadly viral outbreak is imminent, and he’s been chosen by a mysterious system called S-IO to survive.
The system doesn’t hand out weapons or magic powers it upgrades Ren’s skills, unlocking vital survival abilities like lockpicking, crafting improvised weapons, and synthesizing antibiotics. It also gives him $3 million to prepare but with strict rules: no warning others, no buying property or hiring help. His survival isn’t because he’s special it’s because his struggle provides entertainment.
As the virus spreads and society collapses, Ren’s idealistic hope is shattered. Friends and family abandon him, and he’s forced to become a cold, pragmatic survivor in a city overrun by the infected and ruthless humans alike. With time running out, Ren must learn to trust no one except the system.
Will thirty days be enough to prepare for the apocalypse? Or will Ren become just another victim in a world where survival is the ultimate game?
