Without a second thought or remorse, he shot the laser at the woman sprawled on the floor.The bullet stuck the woman chest, smearing fresh blood on the little girl she'd birthed. The little girl stood there for moments, too shocked to react or to talk. her face turned pale and white, the blood on her hoodie reminding her her mother was gone. She remembered her mother's last words before her once lively blue eyes went shut. "be a good girl for momma, hunny". Her dad bounded her to the small warehouse at the far end of their empty streets where no one would find her. The little girl had cried and kicked into flesh, crying for help but no one would hear her. she'd thought her dad killed them, too. One thing was sure to her; he was coming back for her. Maybe not presently, but in the future.
