"Hayat" I replied confidently as my back hit the wall. A dead end. "Full name"? He asked fully invading my personal space as he placed both his hands on each side of wall trapping me in. We stared at eachother in silence. "Hayat Malik" I replied still staring at him. As the words slipped out of my tongue, a small smirk made its way to his lips. कुछ पाने के लिए कुछ करना पड़ता है और सब कुछ पाने के लिए सब कुछ करना पड़ता है पर मैं आज आपको एक ऐसे गांव में ले चलता हूं जहां सब कुछ पाने के लिए केवल 20 साल का होना पड़ता है। लाल टेकरा नाम के इस गांव में जो युवक 20 साल का हो जाता है उसे सब कुछ मिल जाता है पर आश्चर्य की बात यह है कि यह रहस्य गांव का एक बुजुर्ग व्यक्ति ही जानता है जिसका रहन-सहन उठना बैठना और बोलचाल एक पागल की तरह है इसी कारण पूरा गांव इसे पागल समझता है और कोई इसकी बात पर यकीन नहीं करता। आखिर क्या रहस्य है लाल टेकरा गांव का जहां 20 साल के युवक को सब कुछ मिल जाता है और आखिर वह क्या रहस्य है जो केवल इस पागल व्यक्ति को पता है जानने के लिए पढ़ते हैं कामिनी एक अजीब दास्तां। लाल टेकरा गांव प्राकृतिक रूप से बहुत ही सुंदर गांव है जिसके चारों ओर कामिनी नाम की एक ठहरी नदी है और बीच में बसा है यह छोटा सा गांव जिसका वातावरण अत्यधिक पेड़ पौधों के कारण सदैव महकता रहता है गांव में प्रवेश के लिए एक पुल बंधा है जो गांव में प्रवेश करने का एकमात्र मार्ग है। गांव से बाहर पुल के सामने एक छोटा सा रेलवे स्टेशन है जो इस गांव तक पहुंचने का एकमात्र मार्ग है इस वक्त स्टेशन पर एक ट्रेन रुकी है और उसमें से एक सुंदर आकर्षक युवक बाहर आता है जिसके दोनों हाथों में बैग है फिर ट्रेन से और भी कई लोग उतरते हैं इस युवक का नाम आकाश है जिसकी इसी स्टेशन पर टिकट कलेक्टर पोस्ट पर नियुक्ति हुई है। वहां मौजूद सभी लोग आकाश को बड़े अजीब ढंग से देखते हैं आकाश को भी इन सभी लोगों का रवैया थोड़ा अजीब लगता है पर वह इन लोगों पर बिना ध्यान दिए अपने रेलवे कक्ष में पहुंचता है। जहां स्टेशन का स्टाफ चाय नाश्ता कर रहा है आकाश वहां अपना परिचय बता कर अपना नियुक्ति लेटर स्टेशन मास्टर केदारनाथ जी को सोपंता है। स्टेशन मास्टर केदारनाथ बड़े हंसमुख व्यक्ति है वह आकाश को देखकर अपने मिजाज में कहते हैं। "20 साल की उम्र में नौकरी करना अपने आप से बगावत है, लाल टेकरा गांव के इस स्टेशन में आपका स्वागत है, अब  आप काटना हर यात्री की टिकट, और हम खेलेंगे स्टेशन पर क्रिकेट,। केदारनाथ की यह बात सुनकर आकाश के चेहरे पर हल्की सी मुस्कान आ जाती है फिर केदारनाथ स्टाफ के तीन अन्य लोगों से भी आकाश का परिचय करा देते हैं और कहते हैं-"यह चाबी लो और स्टेशन का आखरी कमरा जो गांव के पुल पर बना है वही तुम्हारा कमरा है अब वह तुम्हें पसंद आए या ना आए यह अलग बात है पर तुम्हें वही रहना है"। आकाश शर्मीली मुस्कान के साथ चाबी उठाकर चल पड़ता है और अपने कमरे के पास उस पूल की तरफ देखता है जो बड़ा मनमोहक दृश्य है इस दृश्य में ऐसा लगाव है जो गांव में प्रवेश करने की प्रेरणा दे रहा है और जैसे उसे गांव की ओर खींच रहा है तभी अचानक आकाश के कानों में एक अजीब आवाज सुनाई देती है। "कभी इस पुल को पार मत करना" आकाश चोकंता हुआ पीछे मुड़कर देखता है, उसके सामने एक फटा कोट पहने, लंबे लंबे उलझे हुए बाल, भिखारी, जैसा डरावना व्यक्ति खड़ा है। आकाश हिचकते हुए उससे पूछता है को -कौन हो तुम? "मेरा नाम पागल प्रोफ़ेसर है मैं इस गांव का एक बहुत बड़ा रहस्य जानता हूं"। उस पागल व्यक्ति ने कहा "बड़ा रहस्य जानते हो तो जाकर गांव वालों को बताओ"। आकाश ने उसकी बात काटते हुए कहा "गांव वाले मुझे पागल समझते हैं इसीलिए तुमको बताना आया हूं"। "मुझे नहीं सुननी है, तुम्हारी बात, जाओ यहां से। आकाश ने जोर से चिल्ला कर कहा "तुम्हारी उम्र क्या है"? उस पागल ने पूछा "क्यों बताऊं तुम्हें"? "क्योंकि इस गांव में 20 साल के युवक का आना मना है"। उस पागल ने अजीब भाव से कहा "क्यों कोई कानूनी रोक है, अब मेरी बात ध्यान से सुनो, मेरी उम्र 20 साल है और कल मैं इस गांव में आऊंगा, मुझे मेरा काम करने दो और प्लीज यहां से जाओ। "ठीक है, अगर आना चाहो तो आ जाना पर उससे कोई वादा मत करना"। उस पागल व्यक्ति ने फिर अजीब भाव से कहा "मुझे लगता है तुम कोई पागल हो इसीलिए आखरी चेतावनी देकर कहता हूं मैं अपनी आंखें बंद करके 5 तक गिनूंगा अगर तब तक तुम यहां से नहीं गए तो तुम्हें कांस्टेबल को बुलाकर गिरफ्तार करा दूंगा। आकाश ने चिढ़ते हुए कहा फिर आकाश आंखें बंद करके गिनती गिनने लगा और पांच तक गिनने के बाद आंखें खोलता है तो उसकी आंखें फटी की फटी रह जाती है क्योंकि उसकी आंखों के सामने वह पागल व्यक्ति तो नहीं है पर एक बेहद ही खूबसूरत लड़की खड़ी है जो बिल्कुल दुल्हन की तरह सजी हुई है।
