Il est le pauvre type qui se fait rejeter avec un sourire. Il y a juste un petit problème. Renji est gay. Alors au lieu de bouder et de courir après une femme qui ne l'intéresse pas du tout, il jette le script de l'auteur dans la cheminée, fait ses valises, et s'enfuit vers le Nord froid et tranquille pour profiter paisiblement de sa seconde vie. Tout se passe parfaitement... Jusqu'à ce que le Grand-Duc, Alvar Ragnulfsson, apparaisse. Le héros principal supposément hétérosexuel est soudainement beaucoup trop proche—regards persistants, contacts désinvoltes, et un intérêt qui dépasse clairement la ligne du "juste amis". Soudain, le second rôle négligé pourrait bien tenir la vedette d'une histoire très différente. Entre politique, pouvoirs divins, et un Grand-Duc dangereusement attentionné, Renji n'a qu'une seule question : Est-ce lui qui réécrit le script... ou est-ce le script qui le réécrit ?
