THE ROYALS: ANNA & WILLIAMS

THE ROYALS: ANNA & WILLIAMS

#The Royals: Anna and Williams Anna was a simple girl, a free spirit and not your usual prim and proper kind-of girl. While girls her age were busy having tea parties, playing castle and attending debut balls, Annalisa-Jane Jacobs loved to play with children, wear trousers under her gowns and climb rocks. It didn't help that she was a princess. She was also stubborn and rebellious; traits she got from her father. And she hated to be confined and controlled even though she was the Princess of Worcestershire Castle. Annalisa-Jane Jacobs wanted to be wild and free and this went against her father's wishes. Her parents, the King and Queen of Worchester, thought getting her married would make her act like a woman. They believed that marriage was the solution. So when his childhood friend, Duke De Beaumont tells him his second son, Williams De Beaumont had returned back from completing his masters abroad in England, the Royal family and the Dukes decides that the young Duke was the perfect match for their daughter Annalise, the Princess. But here is the problem. The Duke and the Princess hated each other from their first meet. William was pompous, proud. Arrogant! Annalisa-Jane was simple, stubborn. Rebellious! They were bad combinations for each other. They rather kill themselves than to get married. And seeing that their parents were hell bent on going through with the marriage alliance; thus they made sure to flaunt their parents plans, get them angry, do un-royal-like things just so they cancel the wedding. It was a ‘’ruin it’’ or ‘’run-away’’ plan if it doesn’t work out. Their hate for each other was evident. But there is one thing as strong as hate -which is love, especially when they did not see it happening. Not Ever!!!! Set in recent times and having an ambience of classic royal family politics, unknown enemies and a bust of unexpected turns, the Royals: Anna and Williams takes us on a journey of hate and eventual love; without restrictions to foul language even in their thick Worcestershire accent, raw unfiltered desires and mixed emotions that would get you laughing, angry, giddy, frustrated and toes curling and heart beating fast waiting for that moment. It would keep you at the edge of your seat because you would not want to stop turning those pages. I mean how can you, it’s too juicy, so don’t blink!!

Esther: The King's Beloved

Esther: The King's Beloved

Esther flinched as the man slowly lifted the veil covering her face. “... Are you afraid of me, Queen?” “No, Your Majesty.” The King frowned, brushing the tips of his fingers over the lip she had bitten down on to keep it from trembling. “You may tell me the truth, My Queen.” “Then.. I am a little afraid.” With a sigh, the man lowered himself down onto the bed at her side, his hand still lingering near her face. “Is this crown I’ve put upon your head not proof enough of my love for you?” “It is enough, Your Majesty.” “Then, fear me not-” Without warning, the King wrapped his arms around Esther’s waist, pulling her body on top of his. “-for you are the only person in all of Persia whom I allow to sit above me.” **** Esther is a child of misfortune, hidden away in the secluded dwellings of the Persian Empire’s most despised clan. She knows nothing of the world outside, save for what her uncle, a guard at the royal Shushan palace, tells her. Everything changes for the young girl, however, when a decree rings throughout the Royal City that each clan must present a woman as a candidate for Persia’s next Queen. As the only suitable woman among her people, Esther has no choice but to serve as her clan’s offering. Somberly, her uncle prepares her to enter the palace, where she will have to live for a year as a Queen Candidate, possibly for the rest of her life if she gains the King’s attention. To survive and someday return back home, she must hide her origins and keep her head down. But before long, Esther finds herself tangled in a web of politics and schemes when she accidentally catches the eye of two men, each with royal blood and secrets of their own. One is hiding his identity, just like she is. And the other is harboring a secret so dangerous, it could turn the entire empire on its head. The stakes of the game only become higher as Esther realizes the thing she must fear most has already befallen her. King Ahasuerus’s affection. Will she be able to protect herself and her people as she unravels the dark mysteries hiding beneath the royal palace’s glittering exterior? ---------- This is a work of fiction and is not meant to portray certain groups of people, religions, and/or places in a historically accurate way. The Book of Esther

The Book of Esther

The Book of Esther tells a story of the deliverance of the Jewish people. We are shown a Persian emperor, Ahasuerus (loosely based on Xerxes, 485–464 B.C.), who makes momentous decisions for trivial reasons, and his wicked minister, Haman, who takes advantage of the king’s compliance to pursue a personal vendetta against the Jews by having a royal decree issued ordering their destruction. The threat is averted by two Jews, Esther and Mordecai. Their influence and intervention allow the Jews to turn the tables on their enemies and rout their attackers. This deliverance is commemorated by the inauguration of the Jewish festival of Purim on the fourteenth and fifteenth of Adar (mid-February through mid-March). The book confronts the modern reader with important themes, the evils of genocide and racism. Esther’s character matures over the course of the narrative. As a girl she is recruited for the king’s harem because of her physical beauty. But at a key moment in the book, she rises to the challenge to risk her life for the salvation of her people. At that point, she transforms her status as queen from a position of personal privilege to one of power and public responsibility. Esther’s uncle, Mordecai, appears first as an adoptive father, whose solicitude for Esther leads him to the king’s gate, where he foils a plot to assassinate the king. When he learns of the edict against the Jews, he encourages Esther to confront the king. The book ends with Mordecai as the king’s chief minister.
