There were many differences between the cervical vertebrae of plesiosaurs and long-necked dragons: 1. ** The difference in length **: The cervical vertebrae of a long-necked dragon were relatively long, usually composed of multiple longer cervical vertebrae. The cervical vertebrae of a plesiosaur were relatively short, usually composed of 14 - 17 cervical vertebrae. The overall neck was relatively short. However, a plesiosaur like the Plateosaurus could have up to 72 cervical vertebrae, and 8 meters of its 14-meter body length were cervical vertebrae. 2. ** The difference in shape **: The cervical vertebrae of the long-necked dragon were oval, and the cervical vertebrae were relatively short and slender. The cervical vertebrae of the plesiosaur had different characteristics. 3. ** Function (difference in mobility)**: Long-necked dragon's neck can bend at a greater angle. This is the result of biological evolution. In order to adapt to the natural environment, it has greater flexibility. For example, its collarbone is connected to the left and right bones of the head, which is more flexible and convenient to twist to look at the two sides. On the other hand, the joints of the plesiosaurus 'cervical spine are very strong. They can't raise their heads and can only swing slightly. In terms of the number of cervical vertebrae, the long-necked dragon had 12 cervical vertebrae, each of which was very long. On the other hand, the plesiosaur had many short cervical vertebrae strung together to support its long neck, and its cervical vertebrae could reach as many as 76.
