In the novel Rose Gate, the title of aunt was unique and puzzling. Judging from the character's experience, the aunt of the teenage girl had originally lived a normal female life, wearing a skirt to go to a girls 'school. However, when she was sixteen, the groom ran away on their wedding night. This blow made her give up on her longing for love and marriage. After that, she cut her braids, wore a suit, smoked, and tied her chest. She lived a half-yin and half-yang life. Her lifestyle and image were between an aunt (a role characteristic of a female elder) and a father (a role characteristic of a male elder). She had both a female identity and a masculine side in her behavior and appearance, so she was called an aunt. The original work was equally exciting. Mother Liu and Aunt Xianglin were both women who were deeply oppressed by feudal ethics. Mother Liu was a 'kind woman who was a vegetarian,' but she was deeply poisoned by feudal ethics and superstition. She instilled feudal superstitions into Aunt Xianglin, perhaps with the intention of helping Aunt Xianglin find a way to "atone for her sins", but it caused an unbearable mental burden to Aunt Xianglin and pushed her into a more terrifying abyss. She adopted a mocking and ridiculing attitude towards the scar on Aunt Xianglin's head and played with the pain of others, which also brought psychological trauma to Aunt Xianglin. She should have an unshirkable responsibility. Aunt Xianglin's fate was tragic. Her marriage was bumpy. After her first husband died young, her mother-in-law sold her to Lu Town to find a wife for her brother-in-law. Later, her mother-in-law snatched her away and married He Laoliu. After the death of He Laoliu, his son was eaten by wolves. He returned to Lu Town to work again but was despised by Fourth Master Lu. Nanny Liu had given her the idea of donating the threshold to atone for her sins, but she was still rejected after donating the threshold. In the end, she was chased out of the Lu family and died as a beggar. Her resistance was ineffective many times, and her complaints were treated as jokes by everyone. Under the pressure and destruction of feudal thoughts, she finally walked towards death.
