Chapter 37: Rift Hopping

Grey occupied the commander's seat in the Rifter. A place typically reserved for military giants in films, his seat boasted a swivel-out table that only marginally surpassed the amenities of a budget Earthian airline.

The seat shared standard features with the others, including an intercom button and a built-in booth for G-force stabilization. Its only unique trait was its central location.

He sighed and rose, approaching Emma with a peculiar expression that made her uneasy.

Clad in a black maid outfit with an overpowered power suit beneath, Emma's hair formed a ponytail draped over her shoulder, cascading halfway down her chest. She was stunning.

Her appearance brought a wry smile to Grey's face as he felt a twinge of bitterness over his own conscience. Despite her fantastical beauty in this imaginary world, a mental barrier made even the slightest touch difficult.

"Umm... yes?" Emma inquired nervously, uncertain of what to say.
