Chapter 44: Turning Point
"What the fuck! What the fuck!" Damian repeatedly mutters in his mouth as he paces back and forth in his room with a weary expression.
Waking up in his room but not having any memories of the night before is suspicious enough. Then, with pain all over his body, especially in his private area, make Damian's suspicion grows even more.
Damian quickly runs towards the bathroom to check his body using the mirror. When he sees all the bruises on his body, he knows that his suspicions are not a baseless guess. With gritted teeth, Damian punches the bathroom wall in a feat of hatred and anger. His eyes are red, but after a few minutes, panic overcomes his mind.
"Who the fuck did this?" His face becomes pale as he runs towards his phone. When he checks his phone, most of the messages are just unimportant notifications from his playtoys. But, there is one different notification.
The notification is from an unknown number. Damian tapped on the message only to see a video was sent to him from this unknown number. With his hand shaking, Damian clicks on the video only to see two males are having sex with multiple guys.
Damian quickly throws his phone away as he realizes that the two males are him and Richard. Because of the shock, Damian throws the phone without closing the video. So, he can still hear the moan of the two-person inside the video.
Suddenly, familiar ringtones ring and reverberate, coming from his phone. It was a call from Richard. Damian gulps before walking towards his phone. Only then he realizes that there are a lot of missed calls from Richard. Damian can guess it. The same thing might have reached Richard too.
Damian picks up the phone and hears the panicked voice of the person who always looks calm.
"Ri…Richard!" Damian stutters as he calls Richard.
"FUCK YOU, DAMIAN!!! FUCK YOU!!!" Richard's screams shocked Damian, who is still inside a trance.
"What... What's wrong Rich?"
"DROP THE YOU KNOW NOTHING ACT, DAMIAN!!!" Richard screams again. "I KNOW YOU ALSO GET THAT VIDEO!!! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I'LL LOSE IF THAT VIDEO GOES TO THE PUBLIC EYES!!??"
Hearing that sentence makes Damian fume in panic and anger. But, his anger overtakes all his senses. He gripped the phone tightly before retorting.
"COMPARED TO YOU, I'LL LOSE EVERYTHING!!!" Damian feels his hatred rise with his anger towards this sudden misfortune. "THE WORST THING YOU'LL FACE IS GETTING SENT TO ANOTHER COUNTRY, WHILE I'LL BE DISOWNED BY MY FAMILY!!"
"FUCK THAT!!! THAT'S NOT MY PROBLEM!!! I WON'T LET ALL THE THINGS I'VE BUILT GET DESTROYED BECAUSE OF YOU!!" Richard screams even louder. "FROM TODAY ON , WE ARE NO LONGER WORK WITH EACH OTHER !!!!" After that, Richard cut off the call.
"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!" Damian is shocked when Richard suddenly decides to stop all of his relationships with him. Damian knows that he needs Richard's help if he wants to take over his father's company. Damian is actually an illegitimate child, which is why it will be hard for him if he wants to take over the company.
Damian's pupils shrink as he looks at the cut-off calls. When he tries to call back, Damian realizes that his number is blocked.
"FUCK!!!!" Damian screams before throwing his phone as hard as he can towards the wall. This time, his phone shattered and broke. "FUCKKKKKK!!!" Damian shouts again as he ruffles his hair before squatting on his bedroom floor.
After a few seconds, Damian mutters something in his mouth." How come the things that happened are my fault?" Damian keeps thinking of Richard's last sentence in panic as he does know one thing.
"He's going to turn me into a scapegoat."
At the same time, in Richards Sullivan's room after the calls with Damian. "I've done the things you told me, now please keep your promise!"
He talks to the black humanoid entity in his computer. The entity is in the shape of a human body, but Richard couldn't see make out its gender. The only thing he can see is that the silhouette is smiling and uses a voice changer.
Today, when he woke up to the sudden loud noise from his computer, this shadowy figure suddenly appeared and blackmailed him.
[What did I promise you?] Said the entity with a chuckle.
"DON'T JOKE AROUND!! YOU SAID THAT IF I PROMISE TO CUT ALL CONTACT WITH DAMIAN, YOU'LL PROMISE TO DELETE THE VIDEO!!" Richard feels chill on his back as he's afraid that the worst things he can think of will happen.
[Did I promise you that?] The entity speaks with a childish tone.
"YOU PROMISED ME!! DON'T PRETEND NOT TO REMEMBER!!" Richard screams as he grips his computer. Richard's panicked expression added with his just woke up face is seen clearly by the person inside the computer.
That entity inside the computer is, of course, Viollete using the help of the ball.
"You think I'll let you go that easily?" Viollete chuckles before saying her last words to Richard. "This is not even the cherry on top for your retribution."
"Wai-" Viollete closes the interface where she is connected to Richard's computer. Not waiting for Richard's replies, Viollete just ignores his pleas.
"Now, the next step, I'll leave it to Doctor Maya and Vincent." Viollete let out a lazy sigh while stretching her body on the computer chair.
[You have it easy…] The ball mock.
"At least the progress is good," Viollete replies lazily before getting up from her chair. "Doctor Maya has a lot of contact with the underworld and business world. And it's easy to use Vincent's abilities to bring down Sullivan's business empire.
[As long the mission is completed.]
I breathe a sigh of laziness as I walk outside of my room. When I reach the stairs, I can see Alex and Alice in the living room. 'Both of them really think of my house as a hotel.' I roll my eyes before walking toward them. "Morning!" I greet them when they realize my presence.
"Vio-I mean Ava! Morning!" Alex greets me back. Though, I realized she almost calls me Viollete. But I'll pretend I didn't hear it.
"Good morning…" Alice also greets me. I look at her face, but she quickly turns away.
'I guess what we talked about yesterday still disturbs her mind.' I scratch the back of my head before sighing. "Anyway, what are you guys doing in my house again this morning?"
"Well…" Alex pause and looks at Alice as if to wait for her agreement first. When she sees Alice nodding, only then Alex looks at me to explain. "My mother has eloped overseas with a lot of my father's money. She has left me here. Then my father found out that I'm not his biological child. Also, he founds out I'm actually a woman. So, I got kicked out right away. Then, Alice says that she actually knew my identity and we are actually lovers, so she also got kicked out together with me." Alex explains in one breath.
"…" I look at Alex and Alice with a smile that doesn't reach my eyes. " Haha…" I can't help but cover my face with a palm before laughing weakly.
"Erm… can we stay in your house a few days? My account has been frozen and, I don't have enough money to rent a place to sleep until I finish school." She looks at me with an awkward smile.
"You still need to do chores around the house" I just sigh in defeat.
"I will help with the cooking." It was Alice who volunteered first. Then she looks at Alex. "Alex will help with cleaning around the house."
"Ehh!!" Alex looks at Alice in disbelief.
"Help clean around the house or sleep on the couch." Alice threatened.
"I'll help clean the house! You are not going to see any speck of dust and unwanted particle!!" Alex changed her expression in a matter of seconds. She proudly patted her chest and hummed with confidence.
I roll my eyes when I see Alex's hypocrisy.
After that, I asked them to prepare new bedsheets and take all the essential things from the cabinet in the bathroom. Good thing I always prepare a lot of spares. I look at the back of both Alice and Alex as they walk into the room where they usually stay.
[Sorry for the sudden intrusion Viollete.] Alex's voice suddenly appeared in my head.
[It's really sudden. Is this one of the plot points in your mission?] I asked while sitting on the couch to watch the tv. It's the news about how MrMckenzie is now asking for police help to search for his wife.
'The life of the rich.' I thought in my head.
[Yeah, It is! In the original plot, yesterday was the day when Alice got kicked out. Then, she will suppose to live alone. That is also the start of the fall of McKenzie's business empire. All his past crimes will be revealed. But, because Mr. McKenzie cut off his father-daughter relationship with Alice, Alice will not get implicated at all. In fact, she will become a poor victim.] Alex explained.
[That's smart of her. I guess that's explained why she doesn't choose to live with her mother's family right away. This will create an illusion of a pitful, lonely girl in the eyes of society. She will not receive unwanted attention from her enemies too. She doesn't want people to know she is the mastermind behind the fall of a successful company.] I praise Alice intelligent and cunning ways of getting rid of suspicions.
[my girlfriend is amazing righ-] And that's my cue to block my conversation with Alex. I grumble at the thought of how Alex always finds the chance to boast about her lover.
"Seems like both of us are facing the turning point in our mission." I smile as I stare at the television.
"My mission is almost reaching its end."
